    Luton v Watford.

Watford travel to their local rivals where a win would not only help with their automatic promotion push but mean a double over the scum. Then we can get promoted and never play these lowlifes again, hopefully.

The lack of fans may help Watford as anyone who has been to this game will know that the atmosphere is near boiling point at the best of times. Watford need to win three of their last five to go up (with at least a draw against Brentford), three of these games are against teams in 1st, 3rd and 4th. So, Luton is really an important game in the run in.

The kick off will be moved due to the King's funeral.

    Team news to follow:

Pedro has avoided retrospective action for his elbow though.

    ¡¡COYH COYH COYH!! <magic>

I'm rather pleased. An 11.30pm kick-off on a Saturday night is not too bad.

I felt more saddened when I watched the tv obituaries of Shirley Williams yesterday...each to their own I guess)

Another must win this one............ one of the easier games left for us on paper.... but..........

Just seen the picture of Luton's ground on the Watford FC website and now I know why it is referred to as the Kennels!

I used to watch Luton quite often when Watford were away on a Saturday, and before I could afford away days. The ground even in those days was poor, and the side that has the bungalows on used to be a terrace that once a sideways sway started was very difficult to stop. People at the end quite often were flattened. Two of the best players from that era were fantastic to watch. Syd Owen was a centre half who never seemed to run about but was always in the right place. Billy Bingham was a very fast goal scoring winger. Rather like Sarr in full flight you could feel the anticipation rising. If I had enough money I would take the Green Line coach, otherwise cycle there. My bike would be propped up outside the ground without a safety chain, and never got stolen.

Nathaniel Chalobah and William Troost-Ekong – both of whom were substituted as an injury precaution last Friday night at home to Reading – are pushing to be part of the plans for the trip to Luton Town this weekend, with a final call on their involvement tomorrow (Friday).
Tom Cleverley will be hoping to join them in the travelling party to Kenilworth Road. He’s worked hard all week after a knee injury set-back and will be assessed tomorrow.

I guess if they are out we know Sanchez and Cathcart could come in and do well?

Have they got 95 minutes in them? I say that about Sanchez really. Time split between him, Gosling and maybe Cleverley. Possibly they will withdraw Pedro to midfield and play Gray or Success. This is if they do have injuries.

Well today is the big day !

3 points is a must for a couple of reasons.

Do the double over them and maybe as importantly to the club move closer to promotion.

I worry our worse performances do tend to come against teams with poor pitches and who try to be physical.

Need to get Sarr doing his stuff early on.

I think we'll need to be in gear from the get go and be clinical. Do that and we could up our goal difference significantly; the longer it's close the worse it's likely to get: like neverton, they are the masters of nicking something at the death.

Good to see that Cleverley has made the bench. I feel sure that if he was 100% he would have been ahead of Sanchez.

I think Springy was right that if they went toe-to-toe in a game of football, Luton would lose. And as Tommy M is saying they’ll have seen how Bournemouth won by roughing up our youngsters...
