How about medals? He was the single most influential central midfielder in Europe, let alone the premier league, for a period and Gerrard is still firmly in his shade. Always will be, no matter how you Liverpool fans squeal otherwise. You want to talk thuggery? Ask that Southport DJ.
Keane was brilliant player and better than gerrard defensively but gerrards ability going forward outweighs that.

Roy keane without doubt the best midfielder the premiership has ever seen... Gerrard may be one of the best attacking midfielders..

There's no doubt Gerrard is better than going forward than Keane but as an all round CM I believe Keane is / was better than Gerrard. However this will decend into the usual bollox as there is no way we will ever agree on this
It's partly to do with goals, yup. But as someone said - things outweigh things. Defensively Keane shaves it. SG got more to his game. Always had - actually, even as a kid. But you know this.

Same here. What's that saying Jack of all trades, master of none. I'd rather have the best CM than a very good central midfielder who can play RB,LB etc - after all we already have players who can play those positions
