VAR got it right by asking the referee to take a look who deemed it a foul, which it was.

The face is a no go area at the end of the day.

Honestly, he barely touched him. Son just fell down like he'd been shot.

He barely touched him, and certainly not intentionally. Not a foul in my book. Seen far worse than that ignored.

Son went down and made a complete and utter meal of it, trying to get the referees to buy it.

I think the ref got it right. Foul but not enough for a 2nd yellow. It was an accident but McTominay used his arm unfairly by catching him in the face.

I usually support you on these things, Tom, but that’s bollocks.

That's your opinion. Mine is it was a foul. A soft foul but a foul nonetheless.

Honestly if that's considered a foul, we might as well make football a non-contact sport where any touch is an instant FK

I can understand why the referee decided to award the FK once he reviewed it,

But for me, the VAR should have never asked him to have a look at the monitor. It was barely anything, soft as you like. Foul or no foul, it didn't warrant an overturn. I don't want VAR being used for that.

Right decision at least to not give a second yellow.

If (big if) it was a foul then it was right result not right decision.

Easily been the best player on the pitch, and is easily having his best game in a Man Utd shirt.

Hmm, I would suggest the game at Saints as his best.

That could have been really bad for Shaw, with his leg planted. He's lucky not to have gotten injured there.

That likely puts paid to any chance of Mourinho making CL. 7 points out with four teams to pass just isn't happening.

    You love to see it.

Sheff Utd with McBurnie+Mousset+Brewster = £50million worth of strikers on the bench !

Whilst it is completely laughable that any PL club should pay that sort of money for them, they should all do well in the Championship next season (there's no prospect of another PL club coming in for them). And therefore whoever gets the manager's job will be well placed to challenge for an immediate return. For anyone willing to manage in the Championship, joining them could be very shrewd.
