Other than that bizarre and uncharacteristic Krul mistake, did anyone actually think Derby looked like scoring? A couple of decent, but quite routine saves for Krul. I don’t think that Derby missed any sitters though? Maybe that Kazim-Richards chance, though he always looked off balance.
The boys some some rest; they looked pretty tired. Running up and down the pitch with Derby during a period in the second half wasn't helpful nor smart IMO.
That was p*ss poor after the 7 - 0 thrashing of Huddersfield. We never looked like we would score from open play. The passing was disjointed and lacking any conviction. This is one game I want to forget. Play like that against Bournemouth and we will lose. Still to play Watford, Reading and Barnsley.
I have been really impressed by that young man. I hope he gets a chance to show his potential further next season
Once again he showed poise and positioning and this time I was struck by his pace - he's very quick. He also moves forward very well and you can see the confidence rising with every game.
Perhaps we had raised expectations after the Huddersfield mauling. We dominated the game and kept a clean sheet but they defended well when it mattered. Side note: Omobamidele is now our second highest rated player on 7.33 if you ignore his one cameo sub appearance.
I think we can excuse some of our creative players having an off day. Nevertheless, plenty of positives for me, namely Adam Omobanidele, , Grant Cantbeanygoodasnopremierclubhasputabidinforhim Hanley , McClean , and not forgetting Dowell for securing max points with a stunning free kick.
So Derby win at CR with a free kick by Rooney. NCFC win at Pride Park with a free kick by Dowell. Incidentally, Rooney’s goal was his last in competitive football before he became a manager. Good pub quiz question.
