It is a shame given the buzz around him when we bought him. So far he's been anodyne, it's just not clear what he's supposed to be doing when he plays, other than as you say just being there to maximise possession which ultimately turns into nothing. I expected a more authoritative player as well, given the expense and reputation he came with
I hope Klopp has got his selection right. Mane and Thiago on the bench is a big gamble IMO. Firmino has not been better than Mane and Thiago can open up a defensive block better than Milner surely.
It really is not Mane has been total **** for months. Thiago cannot run so we have the old reliable in to give steel. Both might get their chance after 60mins but have to show it
Game has fallen into the familiar patterns. Safe play mostly. Little bit of intent but not huge and villa happy to wait to play the long hoof when the time comes. Absolute shambles at the back though.

Not many of our lads are going for the fluids here. We ought to really be passing instructions and asking for a little.more risk from the guys making passes forward
Villa look poor, we have created chances but awful finishing again and then the switch off for the free kick. This is why we are losing so many home games and it is really frustrating
