Now footballers (soccer players) are not really 'A listers' in the USA ... but an English Prince certainly would be ... so my view, for what it's worth ... Fosse I get where you're coming from, but there are countless people who do that every day and they won't receive the privilege Philip did OR the gratitude or recognition in death he has. So the reasons you give are not enough to hold him any higher than those who have given the same (and more) service and made the same sacrifices. I have no particular dislike for the bloke btw.
