Newcastle/Sunderland starting 11 this season

I believe that in time they will be 2 of our best players, but at the moment they are still unproven in the prem. Ben Arfa started well last year but now has to prove that he is the same player he was before his injury

 

Depends on the positions really.

Goalies = Westwood is probably better than Elliot
Defenders = I think they're just as thin as we are in this department, if not moreso by having to play some players out of position sometimes.
Centre mids = Sunderland are probably better than us here. They do have the likes of Vaughan, Cattermole, Gardner, Meyler, Colback and so on. Beyond Guthrie and Gosling, I'm not sure who we have.
Wingers = Marv and Benny can play on the wings, and we have players like Ferguson, so I'd say we've got much more potential here.
Strikers = If Bendtner is injured then it's down to the youngsters, and it's too early to tell whether they're going to score more than our backups this season, such as Sammy, Shola, Lovenkrands and so on.

 

Fair enough, but Harper is our second best keeper, so I'd say we're stronger there.

 

Hope nobody is forgetting Harps so quickly.

In that case, we have better Goalie backup as well.

 

We rotate him and Elliot on the bench every game, it's an idea of Pardew's to make sure neither feels as though they are 3rd choice.

 

I know AP can't very well forget him, I was just meaning I hope some of us don't forget him.

 

Would any SAFC player get into our reserves?

 

look at how good marcellino was at Mallorca before coming here and Jon Dahl Tomasson before and after but when he was here he was pants i'll wait to make a judgement on santon. i know the talents there but will he produce it
