Donating a mil or a bit over directly into Ashleys pocket is a truly friendly gesture I always did hear the people of the North East were a friendly lot
The only think I can think off with the release of info now is that the actual takeover is closer than we think and they've discussed it with AS. But in any case, whoever is appointed on to the board will be there as a gesture and their points will be noted but the main person will still choose what they decide they want to do and not think about a section of the fans.

Fair point and I would rather they said that tbh but again - no dates, no agreement, no guarantee, no timeline - far to vague for my liking so as the dragons say "I'm out". I pay my £10 annual membership already so they can take what they want out of there to put towards it. I mean there's 14,000 others putting money in their pocket and what do we get in return? What are their costs and expenditure? A few nice videos every few months? I've not actually see them do anything concrete so far.
I might be being unfair they do a few bits like surveys for the fans and I saw a mental health webinar or something being advertised a few weeks back and that's all great but I don't really know what they do or what they effect at the club which is what I'm personally interested in.
All the fan things do good things to be fair, I think NUST just really need a PR team. I know they do good things and have very good intentions for the Toon, but like they fall down when they make these massive statements like, well above their station acting like they can move mountains. They speak very, very highly of themselves and it's kinda embarrassing, the language they use especially.
It’s a nice side show to detract from what’s happening imho. I mean if they want to waste their time then let them. But if we survive this season it’s not going to make any difference.
I’d be all for more transparency but as I’ve thought more about it, wouldn’t it be easier to confront, say, the premier league and ask why fans forums - which every club is supposed to do - don’t happen and how they intend to hold Ashley accountable? They’re trying to raise millions to get a level of visibility that happens at every other club in the world - seems cheaper to get lawmakers and governing bodies to intervene.

The thing is they have had liked and responses from some vital people connected to the takeover. They may be doing more damage than good. Or it could indeed be part of the plan. Pif won’t comment on this but if this gets traction they would be stupid to not entertain it once the takeover goes ahead. All that needs to happen is a reinstate connection with the supporters. Remember this nust motion isn’t to buy a stake. It’s in case the worst case scenario happens. It’s a bit bizarre and it is almost like Rio had wind of it two weeks ago????
