So, the boro result has not affected our number 2 position but with Norwich thrashing Huddersfield our chances of catching them are even further away unfortunately
More worried about those two below us than the one above. So, good to see another Brentford draw. Talk about handing us a great position on a plate. We have to take care of promotion now. All must be focused on it. No slip ups. Next two games are massive as well as the rest. Next two games and two wins are paramount before the final tough run in where they are more crunch and not as winnable. Muñoz might be going from a nobody to a hero.
Brum almost scored in the final minute. Watching that was almost as stressful as watching Watford hanging on to a one goal lead.
Three wins would put us 18 points ahead of Brentford. That would mean that they would need to get a minimum of six wins from their remaining seven fixtures.
that won’t happen , only a major implosion at the vic , which really doesn’t look likely , can alter the trajectories of all the chasing teams , only muff are consistent , but are fortunately too far behind , swans have taken a deep sea dive , bees have lost their buzz , barnsley run out of road , id say nine points will probably be enough , but be great to go unbeaten till the end , in style .
The way they are both playing, Swansea and Brentford are in danger of being overtaken by Barnsley. And we need three wins to ensure they don't overtake us as well.
Last night it was Swans fans and tonight the Bees. Both have forums that are places of gloom. If gloom could be measured there would be a fight between them to see which team will fail to make the playoffs.
In a not very good game tonight, I think in part the result was due to the way that Bowyer had set the team up. He seems to be inching them towards safety.
At least Barnsely don't have a game in hand, the gap between us n them is 11 points with 6 games to go. That is a lot for them to make up. Hopefully.
And 8 points off Norwich with 6 to go might be a bit of an ask. Wonder if they can drink what Brentford / Swansea have been on recently.
The main worry for Brentford and Swansea is they aren't even scoring very many. I mean if they can only score 1 between them in 4 games - 2 against Birmingham and another v Huddersfield away/Preston at home then they won't find it easy against strong defences like Millwall or Preston. Nor we will we of course having said that in our games. It's annoying they both have a game in hand.
A draw away at Brentford negates.their game in hand and win at home to Swansea probably confirms us in second place Would we change places with them...............NO Would they change places with us..............no need to answer that
I can see us, Norwich and Bournemouth going back up in the reverse positions to when we went up together before
If that should happen expect the bleating about parachute payments to become louder. There have already been comments suggesting that Championship teams do not have the money that ex-PL teams have.
