I have long been a fan of Newcastle United as my 'second' club and whilst I have only watched them of late on the TV, I have been to st.James Park to follow Portsmouth there. Newcastle have always been important to me ever since the days of Micky Quinn and more recently when we demolished the Toon 4-1 on your own patch in about 1/2 an hour I think! The last time I visited your ground I left Fratton station in Portsmouth on the 5-24 am train and got there just in time for kick off, not even time for a beer and a joke or two with you friendly geordie folk.

You guys have made a very impressive start to the new Premiership season and are flying high, despite the sale of the magnificent Andy Carrol whom I rated highly. With good honest and hard working performances coming from quite frankly new and not well recognised players do you think your challenge at the top of the table can be sustained or will you need an injection of cash from your owner to climb even higher and maybe into European contention for next season?

Your neighbours are however I fear on a downward slide , will Steve Bruce last until Christmas or will he the first of many to lose his Premiership job?

Any thoughts my black & white stripey friends? :emoticon-0116-evilg

I lost complete interest in this post after the first dozen words or so. It was so obviously about some absolute and utter horse-****e when it started thus?

Thankfully however, I wont have to make that tiresome trip to the utter **** hole that is Fratton Park, for a very, very, very long time to come.

  5. But you'll still have to make that trip down to the Riverside, unless Boro pull off a promotion push. Haha.

Fratton Park may not be a state of the art Stadium but it's got loads of character and great fans and I've always enjoyed my trips down there.

We look forward to seeing you at our place next season. A nice meat pie and a cup of bovril, at half time, forget the prawn sandwich brigade we are a proper footy club.

I did like the time we beat you guys 4-1 at your place.

Cestria was going to quit the site after they lost to Newcastle in August and guess what he came back just in time for the game the following weekend.

Don't you get notified if one of your comments is deleted? I thought one of mine had been the other day but I didn't get notified and just thought I'd lost track of it.

Never noticed that in the past, though never had evidence to suggest that anyone had deleted my comments.

Excuse the mackems , they've been very touchy of late <laugh>

One more mistake and they'll start making "pompey free" threads.

Always wanted to go to Fratton Park but proved too far and impractical to get to and of course now the division of separate divisions. Hope they come up again in the near future, see more of these proper grounds in the PL again
