When you go to the game - whatever generation - there is always a player that makes you feel "as long as they're playing, we will try - or be ok". Could be Bolton, could be Towers, could be Hurley.....etc, etc.

Mine was Monty. I always thought we would try with Monty in goal.

    Any offerings?

allan johnston! best wide player ive seen at the club though probably he could have played anywhere he was that good, scored some amazing goals aswell and was inspirational when SKP was injured for a few month in his second season

When SKP was playing, I honestly thought we could score against ANYONE. He was that good.

As for trying, Kevin Ball stands out a country mile although like Bart, Benno was a very close second. 2 lads I would just love to see play in this current team and put some rockets up their arses.

We desperately lack a Kevin Ball figure as captain imo. He ranks, alongside Rowel, Benno and SKP, as probably my all time favourite player and captain in my time.

Although I was never able to see him play live, I used to worship Kenwyne Jones!

    Dick Malone :cheesy:

Only kidding - it would have to be Gates and Gabiadini when they played together and maybe Billy Hughes if we have to narrow it down to an individual.

Mind you he probably doesn't deserve it after he called that shoe shop in Vine Place "Billy's Shoes"

In recent times I have to agree, when he was match fit he would do things that win games -he kept us in the league 2007-8, 2008-9 imo.

Why did we ever lose that great partnership of Bent and Jones? - they would terrify defences and stop them coming forward to attack.

Whenever quinny and skp played together i just felt in my bones we would score hatfuls. Think the first 4 games i went to i saw about 14 goals for us. Happy days!
