Did you actually watch the game? I suggest you watch the replay again - his "trailing leg" was on the floor and folded up under Rodwell - it caught Suarez on his ankle. Rodwell could hardly have gotten it further out of the way without snapping it off!

The only reason Atkinson called a foul at all was that Rodwell showed a bit of his studs on the way in. But the studs never went towards Suarez so the ref was wrong in that as well.

Swarbs. Where are you up to with the virtual footie? Sky says it's all sorted at our end. Could you PM me please as I might not find your response on here.

Nahhhhh. Swarbs, my man. Check the slo-mo's again.

And "barely" a foul - is a foul therefore. The rolling about is something we can't condone but we can't prove it didn't hurt either - as there WAS contact. We all had the same pain-threashold, there might something we could do about that. 'til then - foul.

Blaming Suarez? Blaming the victims of crime?...well, I'm off that rapin' murdery rape charge thing again then. Goodgood.

Gonna try and do it tomorrow. My daughter's off nursery with tonsilitis at the mo so I'm limited in my time. She should be back tomorrow so I can get on it then <ok>

    http://www.soccer-blogger.com/2011/...-2011-everton-rodwell-sent-off-suarez-tackle/

His left leg is the leading leg, his right leg is the "trailing leg". And the trailing leg never leaves the ground.

There was contact, but football is a contact sport. Making reasonable contact with an opposition player in the act of winning the ball is categorically *not* a foul. It's only a foul if the referee deems the contact to be reckless and genuinely endangering the opponent. Or are you really claiming Rodwell's challenge put Suarez in any more danger of injury than anyone making a challenge?

And I didn't blame Suarez for anything. The error was the referee's. Suarez rolled around on the floor far too much for the amount of contact made, given that the tackle didn't injure him, but then he does that almost every time he's fouled (as do many other players) so I don't think that influenced the ref. The ref obviously had a poor view of the tackle and saw Rodwell's studs but didn't see him move them out the way before colliding with Suarez.

Speak to the Liverpool mods about banning KPR from commenting on the match thread otherwise it will just be full of abuse.

After having a word with Swarbs, i've decided to keep the match thread on the Liverpool board. Could be chaos if it goes on both boards and the game has a poor decision...

But United fans are still going to go to the thread to comment on it or do you expect us to create a brand new thread.

    Hmm...

Quite happy for any fans to post on the thread.

It's just a measure to try and stop a massive argument between United fans and KPR/EMF.

The problem would be resolved if you ban KPR from commenting on the match thread.

Don't think you can ban him from just a single thread. It'd have to be a ban from the entire Liverpool board.

Anyway, we already have this thread for cross board posting and banter about the game. KPR is already banned from it as it's on the Utd board. Problem solved <ok>

all you need is some maturity all round.

there are plenty on both sides giving it large and to be frank this one is a probelm case as the internationals have given us way too long to bascially make the whole topic talked out and there is nothing but wumming... on both sides.

Banning one guy will make absolutely no difference as there are plenty of guys giving it large.

Mods need to CLOSE blatently wum articles, confine the wummery to banter articles and control the debate positively on article that are trying to go do the right thing. in other words moderate.

Nothing wrong with "jokes" once they are not pornographic as in the case of one article today thats still not acted on. nothing wrong at all with a bit of spoofery but it has to be taken in context. If they are jokes call them jokes.... just don't treat them the same as debate and more serious articles.

examples.... photoshop thread.... brilliant thread, lots of similar threads that are clealry jokes. the single most annoying thing about old 606 was you could not even post a friday joke page without it removed. I'm not asking you guys to think that way.

Bad examples. 5 threads on what ayre had to say today, one is enough! they all ended up as bitter rivals bashing each other i nthe same old way. rooney injury thread.... clear case of a fake link, could be virus, clearly pornographic and no action.

more than anything you've highlighted an issue in the system. if you ban kpr cos he was bold on the utd baord and then he cannot comment on the utd/liveprool banter thread nor the match day thread you've an issue....

finally..... guys if a thread is on the liverpool board its on the bloody liverpool board so if you've 5 or 6 fans of other teams on there shouting the odds they'd better have a good case backed by more than lousy biased rubbish or you WILL have more than just one liverpool fan shooting back. get control of it.

Hell I've gone to JA606 this week to comment more than here as this site has been RUBBISH during this period. cos to be frank there's so few guys left over there there s not the wummery going on. I'm hoping when the dust settles about wednesday next week this site will return to a better balance.

    BLOODY HELL!

It's only a football match with 3 points at stake!

If United lose, will it be the end of their season? - NO
If Liverpool lose, will it be the end of our season - NO

I'm looking forward to the match. It's likely to be a better game of football than the Derby match as there is generally at least some passages of good football.

Do I think we can win - Yes (and the majority of United fans will think the same about their club). That's what makes it fun! We all think we know what will happen but none of us know (apart from Rooney's Dad - sorry couldn't resist that one). So let's all enjoy it. If the unemployment figures keep rising we could all be out of work soon so we need as much enjoyment as possible.

You have clearly not seen the disgusting comments KPR has posted about Munich tragedy, our dead players, etc.

Ze and myself will be out watching the game on Saturday so unless Bozz is around there will not be a Liverpool MOD for the match thread.
