10 minutes ago Villa didn’t look like scoring if the game carried on until Tuesday. Then Fulham just completely capitulated. Parker has to take the blame for this one imo, as he should have shut up shop with 15 left, and hung on for grim death to those vital 3 points, but he left all his attacking players on and they were just too open at the back. Inexperience that imo.
I don’t really buy the Fulham are now a great side guff tbh, they beat Liverpool and you lot and got a point against Spurs. Liverpool were getting pumped by every team at the time. They look ****e, and don’t really offer much more than a Nagelsman imposter wearing his grandmas blazer and a stupid slogan. Championship bound.
Today they played their way out of the Villa press with some quality football, time and time again, where they were lacking was having that bit of genuine quality in the final third in terms of final ball and finishing. Once they took the gift from Mings, the game should have been theirs. Load the midfield, keep a rigid shape and leave Mitro as the outball, no ****ing about, just solid and resilient. Only they just carried on playing the same game and got caught. I think he’ll go on to be a really good manager if he learns from experiences like this, he’s still a kid in managerial terms. I hope they stick with him.
I don’t see it tbh, but it’d be nice to get a decent English manager coming through so I’ll not write him off as a Sherwood yet, but I don’t have a lot of hope. There’s some real crap in this league.
There’s something about Parker that I really like, he was dead honest after the game and admitted that game management cost them the points. I genuinely think he could develop into a top manager.
