LOOKING FORWARD TO LISTENING TO EVERYONE VIEWS RE BATES lets voice are views I know cancer can be eradicated
If anyone's floating around, I recommend you tune in! Very good discussion, though I'm disappointed the exact details of how Bates is throwing our money away aren't being adressed (yet). http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_radio_leeds
I have just finished listening to football forum on radio Leedswhich was well presented by Adam Pope BASICALLY the mood was one of utter frustration at the way the club was being run and the total disregard for the fans who contrubute almost 50% of the turnover. As someone said if you went to your local store and went to pay for the goods at the counter and the assistant turned to you and said your a moron would you go back again. Investment will not be forthcoming because nobody in their right mind would invest in anything he is tied up in. Shaun Harvey declined to attend to meet the people who pays his wages indirectly, again showing the total distain they have for the {moron} supporters . To my mind there is no way forward without investment so until he goes there is no future To summarize it was a very subdued meeting people like me fear the worse for the future of our once great club under this moron! Hope my typing and layout meets with your approval!
Fans actually contribute 63% of turnover according to this Phil Hay article. Even more reason - if any were needed - for why we are the most important people at the club, and should be treated with respect and open dialogue rather than contempt and abuse. The panel were clearly shocked to hear of lifelong Leeds fans going to Elland Road and refusing point blank to buy a pint, a soft drink or a pie on matchday - indeed even to visit the club shop. That's something I'm doing too by the way, as I'm sure are thousands of others. As David Conn and the football finance expert both mentioned, that's clearly an unhealthy relationship between club and fan. Something's got to change. In fact, judging by the government's statement today on how it intends to pass legislation which will force clubs to speak with supporters trusts, something is about to change. Let's just hope they listen to our concerns rather than continuing with their usual, sneering policy of disdain.
Kinky. They upload West Yorkshire Sport to BBC iPlayer the morning after, so you should be able to listen then. Edit: in fact, it's already been uploaded: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00kp7s0
