So Dirk Kuyt didn't score a hat-trick in March? Luis Suarez didn't take the piss out of the entire Man United defence......twice? Lucas and a half fit Steven Gerrard didn't bully Carrick and Scholes into submission? Sorry am I missing something?
I think you should have a look at that match again, the high-lights are on youtube and you will see that Liverpool did in fact beat you up and down the pitch. On the balance of play..you didn't deserve your goal.
I watched the game, we were poor and you took advantage. If we are poor again the same will happen. If we play to our best then we have every chance. Our top level is above Liverpools. Plain and simple.
Sorry I don't share your optimism. Ferguson will resort to type and go with a 4-4-2 with two central midfielders that can't tackle a bacon sandwich against Liverpool who will pack the midfield, dominate posession and kick Man United into kingdom come. This will prove how tactically inept Ferguson is. He will play into Liverpools hands.
How we feel about it puts no bearing on the game. Might as well crank it up a notch Plus we've done well the past few years at home and we seem to be able to win a game there too this season
This season it remains to be seen, again someone takin stock from the arse 8 2 game. Your level has been beneath us but your consistency was better. Last year even so. We scored 5 in the league v ye and ye got 4 back, one not even a consolation. Both teams before this season on their day I fancy our chances, this season too much has changed and it is too early for either to make such a claim.
I fancy our chances of not just beating them, but destroying them, because Ferguson still hasn't signed a dominant central midfielder, any team that sets up to have a right go at them..unsettles them. They've only beaten teams apart from West Brom, that haven't. They only beat West Brom courtesy of an o.g.
is anyone else wanting a game of the decade moment to occur here? Isn't it the case that a once ina decade 4-3 ala the 90's liverpool newcastle game.... OR the 3-3 liverpool utd game of a couple of years prior to that would be something to see. It seems to me a lot of guys on both sides just want to hockey the others to enjoy the bragging rights... but wouldn't you love to see both sides hit form on the same day and deliver a game that the english league could be proud of? I'd love to see that kind of game and even if we lost 3-4 if we came off the pitch having seen great goals and the fact that you know what we really competed with Utd especially as our new team is just developing nicely. Same story for 3-3. on the other hand; dreaming about 4-1 and the run of form we got back then is all well and good too but really if my side plays well i have to be happy. Losing 0-4 due to stupid childish errors as happened ony a few games ago would be a bad thing. playing a bore defensive 0-0 and having john o'shea pop up (impossible now obviously) for a 0-1 would be annoying. .................................... surely even the worst wum out there would rather see a great game that ended in drama than a dire one just cos their side scraped though... but i guess someguys don't watch the games just the results at times.
Sorry but I'm going to have to agree that I think Liverpool's "top game." As in, when we get passionate and all of the variables are in our favour is probably better than the United's "top game" in their top variables. But it's not taking anything away from United, because they have been quite obviously the better side during the course of a season in the past few years.
well.... i don't agree with my fellow reds on this one... pity nobody lese wants a game to be talking about for years to come it seems..... ah well... the beauty of football is that game could come at any time, every game you go to or see could be the best one.
It's got almost no relveance as to what will happen at the weekend but manu got twatted in that game and only a complete dick would deny it.
Exactly. 3-1 was an unfair score-line, with better finishing from Liverpool who should have been more ruthless, it would have been 6-1. That would in no shape or form flattered Liverpool.
