It was a video I saw on facebook of an American teacher saying she refuses to give black kids band aids that are the colour of white people because it literally adds insult to injury.

 

The London Stock Exchange is not in the business of refusing business. It is just the middle man picking up its fees. The consultants making the valuation of the company are clearly the idiots in this case as they overvalued the company in their desperation to lure investors. Deliveroo do not have a unique business model in a competition-free space, so there was no logic to the valuation at all.

If you go and look at a chart of the S&P 500, it gives the impression that the economy of the USA is doing tremendously. If one actually looks at the facts, the S&P 500’s top ten shares – the likes of Alphabet (Google), Facebook, Netflix and Apple – are driving the chart upwards because ordinary Mr & Mrs America have taken their money out of their banks (where it is earning zero interest) and gambled it on big name companies that they have heard of and whose share price continues to rise because of that. The vast majority of companies on the S&P 500 are trundling along making moderate gains. When the US stockmarket bubble bursts, these equities will tank because they are massively overvalued. For now the Federal Reserve is sustaining the bubble by continuing to print more funny money.

Deliveroo would have tanked even if they had launched it in Amsterdam or Frankfurt. At least they got plenty of publicity.

 

If we drag down the statue and throw it in the Thames, will the Metropolitan Police stand around and do nothing – or take a knee?

I suppose that since professional victimhood (especially if you are BAME) is a sign of modern (cancel) culture it should be celebrated. Let the statues stand for a hundred years or so until we think that part of history needs to be re-written and then pull them down.

Your usual level of factual inaccuracy. The statue of Edward Colston (a man who bequeathed his money to charity) that was pulled down in Bristol was not thrown into the sea; and my eyesight must be failing me because I cannot see where in my original post I mentioned it.

When various statues in London were being vandalised, notably Churchill, the police did absolutely nothing about the BLM anarchists – a large number of whom appear to be young hard Left white people just looking for any excuse to commit vandalism.
