Watford will be aiming to extend their winning run in the Championship to six games when they take on Sheffield Wednesday at Vicarage Road. The Hornets are on the right track to return to the Premier League, but they can’t afford any complacency in the remainder of the season. Watford have been impressive at their Vicarage Road this season, with the team eyeing their 16th home win of the process.
Xisco deserves huge praise for guiding Watford up the table since his first game in charge on Boxing Day, with no side taking more points than the Hornets' 41 since then. Not since January 2011, when Malky Mackay was in charge, have Watford won six league games in a row.

Sheffield Wednesday, on the other hand, did well to beat Barnsley before the international break. The Owls did well to put an end to their eight-game winless run, but Watford are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the relegation strugglers than their previous rivals. A man to watch in the away team will be Jordan Rhodes, who has found his goal scoring touch of late.
The Owls are now unbeaten in two, having also played out a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town, and are six points adrift of 21st-placed Birmingham City with a game in hand.

Moore's men quite simply need to put a winning run together if they are to bridge that gap, but they are winless in their last four league games against Watford since 2013.

I am extremely nervous about this game. I can't help thinking that we will have a makeshift team due to the international call-ups and the fluidity that we have seen in recent weeks will disappear. The information about Sarr seems to suggest that he won't be ready. Sema played today, as did Cathcart, Troost-Ekong and Wilmot. I don't know about Masina and Lazaar but they still have to travel back.

It's now Thursday and I don't think any of ours are back yet - will be a big ask without them

I'm surprised that the club didn't ask for this one to be put back a day or so - or did they and the request was refused?

Tom Cleverley is back in full training having recovered on schedule from his knee ligament problem.

Ismaïla Sarr (hamstring) is working hard in an attempt to be back in contention for Friday’s game. Head Coach Xisco Muñoz will make a late decision as to whether he’s included in the matchday squad for the visit of Sheffield Wednesday.

The statement about him leaves us in the dark really. How close to returning is he? Some of the players returning from hamstring problems have been slowly worked back in with a cameo appearance in a game. If he is fit enough I wouldn't be surprised if he started on the bench.

Push Feminia up into attack with Ngakia as full back and play Gray with Pedro so we have a fluid 4 4 2 or 4 3 3

As long as Hughes and Chalabah are playing in their correct positions we should be able to battle in midfield then it is up to the back four not to give away a stupid goal

I still cannot believe after all these years how negative some of you are

In a full ground that can feed down to the team and make them think rather than play their natural game

We have two crucial games in a couple of days so it is unlikely the same eleven will play both games

If not careful you will make Klopp. sound positive and happy and he will make every excuse possible to cover up his teams overall inadequacies

Who will play at left back and in central defence (with Sierralta)? Troost-Ekong, Cathcart, Wilmot and Masina all played on Wednesday evening and then have had to travel back to England. Kabasele is a good defender (although prone to occasional errors), but he has not played for more than three months. Lazaar was also away with the Moroccan national team, but he did not play on Wednesday. Would you be confident about his performance if he starts? Ngakia could play in the left back position, but you have suggested that he play on the right side behind Femenia.

Sema played a full game for Sweden on Wednesday evening so he may need to be rested on Friday, but the attacking options will be improved if Zinckernagel is available. Sarr should not be risked if there is the slightest doubt about his recovery from the hamstring injury because Watford can not afford for him to miss any more games at this stage in the season.

I admire your positivity and I am really hoping that your optimism will be justified, but I do understand why some supporters on the forum are a little apprehensive about this game. Sheffield Wednesday will be tough opponents: they have had almost two week to prepare for this game and they arrive off the back of a good away win against Barnsley. Normally I would expect Watford to brush them aside, but this could turn out to be a tricky fixture.

I was really only commenting on the possibility of Sarr not being available

The coaching staff are the only ones who can determine who is fit to play

Munoz admitted he underestimated the threat from QPR so hopefully he won't make the same mistake twice

Every game between now and the end of the season will be tough but we must go into every game thinking we can win while not expecting to win

We are in a much better position than we were the last time we got promoted and much better than we would have been under Ivic

Jordan Rhodes has had a good record against us in the past.

Think we will win but probably be a case of getting the job done rather than excelling.

We're definitely at the "getting the job done" end of the season. I think that's the most we can hope for this weekend, there's no points for style which is a shame because on our day we have style aplenty.

Can we carry on with the same momentum as pre International break?? I think we have enough strength in depth for any of our sides to win today..... and then back to full-er strength next week.

This is a game for everyone to have 100% focus on doing the right thing in the game - 100% concentration from the off, if we can do that I agree with Yorkie, we have the ability....that does not mean though that it is a foregone conclusion, we will absolutely need to work really hard for the right to play our game today.

I sincerely hope not, but i do think that the team will need to dig deep and it will be as much a mental battle as a physical one when we get out there

Good to have Sarr and Phil Z back.

Gray will probably be annoyed to not be in ahead of Success.
