Race and racism have become less important factors in explaining social disparities in the UK, a government-commissioned review has concluded.

The Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities, set up after Black Lives Matter protests, found social class and family structure had a bigger impact on how people's lives turned out


I don't think this is the narrative BLM expected when the report was commissioned. Also, BAME is now bad so we can't use it but no suggestion as what to call people collectively who are not white. How about Not White? Also, The Community will be raging that the report shows everyone is performing well at school apart from those from an Afro-Caribbean background. Also, how comfortable are we that the report appears to think that a multi-ethnic society has to be "forged"? Sounds like this won't be allowed to happen naturally over time and instead will be forced upon us.

Interesting that social disparity is going to be the focus, maybe it will include how the UK's class system worked before 1948.

England’s class system has been entrenched since 1066. As long as there are forelock tugging serfs like @HRH Custard VC and @DUNCAN DONUTS applauding as they are shafted by our Old Etonian ruling classes, it will remain in place.

 

That's the point in the report. People aren't held back by their race. People are held back due to their economic situation. It's what I've been saying on here for years.

when I went to school there were plenty of grammar schools and working class children had a chance to advance
now many schools are dumbed down and when the children leave school their only opportunities are in low paid work

 

I agree. However, it suits the descendants of the old aristocracy to have black and white people at each other’s throats - it’s the classic divide and rule tactic. Get the proles fighting over statues (of dead aristocrats) and they won’t notice when we go on picking their pockets.

 

But it's the left who are the ones whipping up racism. Every day. The Tories don't even need to do anything.
