From what I've seen, there was no one intimidating in the onlookers, raised voices, but nowt more than that. I think the martial arts guy had to get one person to calm down, and that person moved away. So argument for the prosecution could be that a member of the public was also assisting in keeping public order.

Motion to request prevention screening of the trial regarding minors, due to some witnesses being minors at the time, and some still are minors. After yesterday's witnesses names were used in social media. If not, can they refer to initial or first name terms only. Media prefer the latter.

State wants to bar identification of minor witnesses. Media are arguing some points against.

Judge has denied motion of audio restrictions, against four minors bar one of them. Who he now deems as adults. He's going to suppress video for those selected witnesses for their comfort. They will be giving evidence one after the other.

Bloody heart breaking watching the young girl witness (face not seen) going through her footage, the bit where she's pleading with the officers "he's not moved for over a minute! check his pulse, check his pulse"

    Feel sick

If his intention was to kill him he would have planted a weapon and shot him in self defence

I think he was showing who the big man was and overdid it

Whatever the verdict his life and career are trashed

I'd argue that he lost control, it may have been to show him who the big man was initially, but it went beyond that and imho was intention to kill. To me it looked like he was gaining some type of psycho stimulation from it. Remember throughout the whole 9mins+, he only showed a reaction once, which was to stare at Donald Williams when he was told he had him in a blood hold. The guy imho is a psychopath. I don't think I've ever called anyone that before.

If that was the case his only possible defence would be temporary insanity admitting that he he lost control of his actions

He doesn't stand much chance of surviving a full term in prison either way

He's going down for a very long time, with a risk to his life. So temporary insanity might be his only saviour for some leniency. Pressures of the job maybe?...or just a stark raving lunatic. Only those close to him, will know the answers to that.

I believe his wife divorced him instantly so she must have known something was going wrong in his head

I wonder if they've done psychiatric reports on him, probably not. I think anyone looking at that footage of him killing George, could see he's lost control, and allowed a darker side of humanity to kick in.

A bit like the British cop who kidnapped and killed the girl walking home, he was a top policeman, armed specialist and diplomat protector, no-one saw or wanted to see the first signs when he started flashing, he was probably out of control by then

We thankfully will never know what living in a dangerous profession, Armed Police, frontline Combat Troops etc can do to your mind

We only know with serving soldiers when they crack up as they are trained to keep their emotions under control at all times

Obviously it's a difficult one, because I certainly don't want to make any excuses for an American killer cop. I think as long has he gets put away for the rest of his life, it's some sort of justice, whether that be prison or in some secure psychiatric institution.

I assume the trials of the other cops come at a later date....assuming they are being tried as well for their part in all this?

Their careers could well be over, they have a duty to protect the public even ones they suspect have committed a crime

Female paramedic was concerned, his face was puffy and she could see fluid coming from him, normally when people die they can release their bladder. She said a grown man was on his neck, she was not surprised this was the consequences. She had accessed he had an altered level of consciousness.

She said the cop seemed very comfortable with the majority of his weight on George. He was not distributing the weight (meaning it was all on the victim).

    ffs.

She wasn't allowed into the scene to help him, she was told not to get involved.

I'm wondering if she was a passing paramedic, rather than one that arrived due to the call.

Officers would not let her into the scene, she even offered to tell them how to start heart compressions, they didn't want her help.

That should have been the time the other cops took an interest

With all the media coverage and the resultant protests that followed all the Police involved are finished
