The difference being is that I would not for one second pretend that we don't have players who also do it. Scholes habitually handled on the line, he was a liability for it. Nani is a diver, although he's not as bad as he was. Suarez is getting himself a reputation though. And there's no smoke without fire.
Suarez is the biggest and most prevalent cheat in world football imo. He strikes me as the sort of guy who would cheat his own mother out of her last penny for his own gain. Im talking on the pitch mind.
I wouldn't disagree. I would have done exactly what hwe did in the world cup, though. I don't like diving either, but accept that it's part of the game now, wrongly in my opinion. My mate the football reporter used to be a good footie player - striker (similar build to Suarez). He used to run at/past defenders and dive clicking his heels when he did it. That was about 35 years ago!
Why am I not surprised it's you making that assertion? Your are fast becoming the KPR/EMF of the manc forum.
Yes but it was the crying to begin with then the being chaired off a hero when they missed the penalty. That was what was so distasteful, not the act itself. We'd have all done the act itself!
Did he cry? Chaired off - because he IS a hero. Emotions run high in a World Cup. Sports in general actually. So anyway...I'm right - this forum really is long dead. Biggest game of any season but I can't seem to find any match hype or banter anyplace. And here it really is just the same four or five considered posters and the usual bore-element (harsh on KPR, I thought Hadrons!) Am I missing a trick...Premiership chat? Worth a look?
I never saw it so didn't know about the crying - he wasn't a Liverpool player then. I don't mean that's why he cried, I mean I wasn't taking any notice of him then
Am I wrong in my assertion? A man who is proud of cheating. The last man like him was a fat coke head spanner from Argentina. Quality footballer, even better cheat.
As I said to your colleague Rusholme Ruffian, you've had and have more than your fair share over the years.
they have never been proud of it though. There is the massive difference. Its not just United fans who think hes a diver and a cheat either. Its everyone.
Shortish-term memory loss? I seem to remember a certain manyoo pplayer who got one of his club team mates sent off in the world cup..................... ...........and WINKED when he did it. If that's not pride, I don't know what is. QED.
I also think anyone who saw an opponent stamp on one of their team mates would run to the referee to make sure he was aware of it. But in the same way Ronaldo was rightly hated for his sly "I've got him" wink to the bench after that incident in 2006, so Suarez deserves all the bile he gets for his antics after the game, when he should rightfully have been in the dressing room. For what it's worth, I think Suarez' reputation is a bit overdone. But then again the same happened to Klinsmann, Drogba, Ronaldo, Nani, Robben, Gerrard and any other player who 'simulated' a bit too often. He's no worse than the others were, and will probably get over it like most of them did after realising that it doesn't work consistently in the PL.
Did already. Just not going anywhere is it? Hard to find inspiration. This guy can't even do inflammatory very well. Broken record. KPR's brazen irrationality doesn't bore you tears...least not all the time! I'll check back later.
I think that's true of Nani and Robben as it happens Swarbs. Harshly judged. And Gerrard has played thousands of minutes of Prem football. I'd be surprised if he didn't have his knockers. Some founded, I guess.
Nani really doesnt dive anymore. Hasnt done for ages. His problem is play acting. The 2 are not the same.
