You seem like a level headed guy TFWNN but living alongside Muslims in E London, i do not see a vibrant happy community living alongside the native Christians Sikhs and Hidus..... I see Somali drug dealers pimps and muggers and women driving round in cars with 1 inch of daylight to see the road. I see Muslims only mixing with Muslims, with the aim to transform the area to as close as the place they ran away from.... They do not want to intergrate... You are probably very different but your views on casual violence towards women, and the desire to torture petty thieves is not good.
a lot of it is cultural tbh. Each community has issues. some good some bad. i used to live anywhere, never botherd me since the kids came along i have lived in areas I traditionally hated. simply because of access to services. drugs and crime unfortunately are a way of life transcending religion/culture etc Integration is a 2 way street imo. I dont need to go to a nightclub to make friends or a pub. many white non muslims dont either but thats never an issue as for violence to women, I wasnt being literal. I was just making a point, which may have been put across wrong and seems to have been missed. violence towards women is a masive NO and I dont believe in torture, to thieves or otherwise. I believe in protecting me, my family and my possessions by any means necessary
You obviously have never been bereft of hope or in dire need of faith. What's it to you, why it is your concern what individual human beings do to give their lives some meaning? I honestly don't know why some aetheists get so wound up about people who have a religion and, on the flip side, why some people who have a religion insist on tryiong to convert everyone else. Why should it bother anyone?
