I recommend the Psalms, some cracking stuff in there <ok>

Also Ecclesiastes, you’ll recognise lots of it as quotes from it have found their way into popular culture (including songs. “To everything there is a season”, etc - Mamas and the Papas).

Also Revelations. Revelations is a cracking read. You know Hunter S Thompson turned to it every time he had writer’s block and a deadline to meet, right?

King James is easily the best translation btw, **** the Good News Bible, dreary American **** that is.
I'll keep that in mind as I'm going through it, interesting stuff.

Accidentally attended one of them services on Stoke Newington Common one Sunday. Was just sitting over the common on a baking hot day sharing a bottle of wine and a spliff with a mate, wondering what the stage was for. Suddenly there’s West Indian women everywhere (nearly all women), and on stage walks the Pastor with his microphone, giving it “Goooooooood is not jus fe de black man....aaaaaaand Goooooood is not jus fe de white man! De Kingdom of da Lord is for aaaaaaaalll him children!!!!”

I’ve had worse Sunday afternoon’s tbf.

I’m a bit of a fan of God myself. Some of his self appointed representatives here on earth can be a bit annoying though, granted.
