Saffron Lane (Aylestone Park) ... moved there when I was 3 and my parents took over the offy ... the old girl kept it going until I came back from Uni ... would be 22 in that pic

Missus has done back and sides with dog grooming clippers... but the top is in serious need ... got very thick hair

 

Yeah I've already booked up for my birthday at the end of April. Probably won't go the first week, though I have got the Friday off for a haircut

Other half's aunty lives there ... has for decades ... used to drink in The New Inn there when we first got together but that's been closed for years now...

some off the lads at work are funny as ****..... we have basin cuts, hippies and just a full on mess.. no one really cares though, it is what it is.

 

Yeah mine is a ****ing state. Was planning on getting it done early January but that obviously went tits up.

Think I'm almost as excited about that as the pub tbh.

 

Yeah, pretty sure there were about six pubs in a couple of hundred yards. Including an Old Tredegar and a New Tredegar more or less next door to one another.

Not really sustainable!

 

By the way @FosseFilberto, I used to be a land surveyor for that local authority (NPT) so know the area like the back of me fookin' hand.

Goes into Carmarthenshire at Upper Cwmtwrch though, so not my former hood!

Not been for many a year but the Copper Beech used to be good. There is also the Pen Y Cae further up, which is (or was) very good.

 

You'll know Dan-yr-Ogof then? ... my 16 year old is desperate to bring her boyfriend from Hertfordshire down to experience the 'magic' of the caves and the dinosaurs ... about 5 miles up the road from here ...

 

Yes indeed ... also used to go for a run out that far when I was younger and fitter ...

Did some caving up that area years back. Opposite side of the road though.
