They had a couple of 'hits' didn't they?

Groovy Train and All Together Now.

They were ****e though, fair play!

He's a rabid red like you, eh?

As are three-quarters of Merseyside. @Tobes to confirm.

Did like Groovy Train though. But then again I thought Can You Dig It? by The Mock Turtles was sound too. Nothing special though, tbh. :emoticon-0145-shake

Btw, I said the Madchester scene, not Manchester music. Joy Divison were gods, and I was big fan of 10cc as a teenager. Oasis always wrote/nicked good tunes, and I'd travel 1000 miles over broken glass to watch Johnny Marr live. I was ahead of the curve thinking Morrisey was The Emperor's New Clothes though.

Every time Johnny Marr goes on tour, I go. Mans a guitar genius.

Seen Morrissey loads of times and he was good immediately he left The Smiths. He's an actual parody of himself now, proper knobhead.

The Smiths though, different ****ing gravy. Proper band, didn't make a single duff track, not one.

Old enough to have seen Joy Division back in the day. They played Liverpool a lot, Eric's especially. Think they used to do matinees there. I first saw them at The Mountfort Hall on the university campus @ '79. My mates were raving about them, but I'm sure I actually went to see the * Stranglers, whom they were supporting. Over 40 years ago now though, but whoever they were on with, absolutely everyone was raving about Joy Division the next day. That and The Specials were two of the concerts I went to at that time that blew my mind.

Edit: * May have been The Buzzcocks, who were amazing too.

Saw The Smiths way back when, at The Ritz in Manchester. James supported them.

James are also very good (underrated as it goes. All The Sit Down bollocks overshadows how good the actually are)

Never saw New Order or Joy Division.

Did see Electronic though, which was Barney Sumner and John Marr with a bit of Neil Tennant thrown in.

One cracking album.

The The.

Manchester class, Johnny also involved there at times.

Him and me were definitely at the same NewFADS gig in New Cross many years back!!
