Hmm. I remember the rumours around for ages about the 80s pro road cyclist Robert Millar having done exactly that, Nobody could confirm/refute it (Millar was notably spiky and low interaction towards the sporting press in his day) , so it was thus dismissed. Turned out it was actually true.

Dunno if Robert Millar doped. AFAIK he was a veggie during his pro days, and having clashes with his directeur sportifs about whether his specific dietary regime was sufficient for the physical demands of riding in the "grand tours" .
Probably better IMHO for the mods to move this thread into the "Bill Nic" article. The first public one I recall was "Tula" (who had a background role in the "For your eyes only" Bond movie) , via the tabloids whipping up quite a story about her. Work-wise I was on a gig for a client (1997 ish) , and they told me the tale of how some dept at their site a few years earlier had hired some bloke who had a deferred start of a few weeks. Between then and the start date the bloke had the surgery done (which no doubt came as quite a shock to those who did the interview when day 1 came) .
Back in '91, I worked for a bloke who was transitioning from male to female. It was the very early days and he still had a voice like James Earl Jones, the physique of a 60 year old couch potato and the dress sense of a street prostitute.
