    14 teams would need to vote this in, and quite frankly I cannot see teams other than the 4 mentioned in the article voting for this. What club in their right mind would give and extra advantage to the best teams in the country? And on another note, Liverpool AREN'T a big club atm or a top four club, so it's quite obviously just a greedy reaction to try and get back to where they were a few years ago. The TV rights help to level a very top heavy playing field and that is part of what makes this league great. If Ian Ayre thinks a few more millions will close the gaping chasm between Liverpool and Barcelona, he's got another thing coming.

    i think that one of the main things that gets people watching PL action is that the sides are a lot more closely matched that some of the other leagues.

    Yes, it does appear this year its down to the 2 manc clubs but if you look year on year then there a group of 4 or 5 teams that compete at the top and bar the bottom couple of clubs, no indivdual results are really that cast in stone.

    If we allowed something like this, then it would be self detrimental and the popularity of the PL would decrease as no one want to watch thrashings week in week out! (unless its Newcastle vs 5under1and :biggrin: )
