Which “manifesto promise” would that be?

Have you been getting out of date information from the Garuniad? There was no size of the armed forces manifesto commitment in the 2019 Tory manifesto. They did commit to maintaining Trident, maintaining the 2 per cent NATO spending target and increasing the defence budget by 0.5 per cent above inflation but when have you ever let the facts get in the way of a good old rant?

The French lopped the heads off their royals a couple of hundred years ago when the sad Lefties took charge.

Prior to that they had Bertha of Holland (1072-1092), Ingeborg of Denmark (1193, 1200-1223), Clementia of Hungary (1315-1316), Marie of Luxembourg (1322-1324), Isabeau of Bavaria (1385-1422), Eleanor of Austria (1530-1547), Catherine de Medici (1547-1559), Mary Stuart of Scotland (1559-1560), Elisabeth of Austria (1570-1574), Anne of Austria (1615-1643), Maria Theresa of Spain (1660-1683), Marie Leszczynska of Poland (1725-1768), Marie Antoinette of Austria (1774-1792). Plus the last queen of France, Maria Amalia of Naples and Sicily (1830-1848).

The Anschluss was not until 1938. In 1755, Vienna was in Austria when Marie Antoinette was born, daughter of Empress Maria Theresa of the House of Habsburg.

It looks like somebody needs to start inoculating the Left with a fact checker. Or the thirty seconds on how to type a name into Google...

Britain has only very recently finished paying off the massive debt it accrued from paying compensation for its part in the slave trade, having lead the world in outlawing it. By your arguments, BLM can **** right off then, as it's job jobbed. <ok>

Mind you, I reckon we're still owed a wedge by the Barbary Pirates and the Romans. Maybe if I kneel down a bit, they'll finally cough up.

Why would you need loads of soldiers when you have Nukes anyway? Surely that's the point. Strange to see the 'Liberal' Left bemoan a lack soldiers all the same, lately they've been fawning over Royalty on here and now wanting a large army. It's almost like they would argue black was white if it goes against the Tories.

    Not a good look guys

It's embarrassing to read this post. You're like Toby but with an IQ about 30 points lower <laugh>

Who said anything about race or nationalism? You implied that the Queen is German, which not only displays a lack of understanding about the workings of monarchy and the Crown, and the Queen's ancestry, the but also implies that a person with a great-great-grandfather born in Germany is somehow disqualified from being English. I think most people would question that statement. Even the Nuremberg Laws were more tolerant of 'impurities' than that.

Germans and Englishmen are of the same race, but they different ethnicities. Discrimination on the basis of race is racism. Discrimination on the basis of nationality is xenophobia. Ethnicity is generally considered a qualifying feature of one's race, in a way that nationality is not. Hence, discrimination on the basis of those ethnicities would be 'racist' in any meaningful sense of the word. Interesting, however, that ethnicities generally correlate with national identities; that should tell you something about the nature of nationhood throughout history (and indeed most of the non-Western World today).

Please take your time to learn a little about European history, particularly that of Britain, and contemporary politics before commenting again, sweetie :)

As I said then, the French don't have a German Queen ... my thanks to all of the Gammon Queens that have taken time out to confirm that assertion <laugh>

To which reparations are you referring?

After that set to with the Boche between 1914 and 1918, the victorious powers made them pick up the tab. The problem was that Germany became poorer and poorer, so they turned to a National Socialist who promised to solve all their problems by nationalising all the industries and making them great again.

After the Krauts went on tour again between 1939 and 1945, the victorious powers learned their lesson and decided instead that Europe needed rebuilding, so they put money in and stationed a few troops around the place to maintain the peace (or a lot of troops in the East to maintain control).

The armed forces consists of more than Sodgies mate. Why would you want a serviceable Navy when you're surrounded by fùcking water and are at odds with cùnts who want to encroach on your waters to rape your resources? Why would you want brand new Aircraft carriers to have fixed wing aircraft? Why would you want a serviceable airborne early warning system?

Or even, Why would you want a 40% increase in weaponry that will never be used? Is 300 nueks more of a "deterrent" than 100?

Hard to argue that they weren't great at what they did.

    Senior management let them down.

    Isn't that just typical.

What did the Tory manifesto say about handing out multi million pound contracts to their pals and the landlords of their local pubs?

He will use his usual get-out clause. He doesn't vote Tory, he just rims them and defends them every day with long ranty posts. He lives a sad, lonely existence...
