It hasn't been an easy season so far, but I think we'd all agree that being seventeenth in L2 is better than being in the bottom four of L1 !I'd like to thank the fans who made the trip to Oxford. I'm sure we'd all agree that apart from Oxford scoring it was a pretty even game. Paul assures me that things are coming right. It takes time for new players to gel and with eighteen new faces Paul tells me he only needs another four then he has two XIs for a practice match. I've given him my cheque book on the strict understanding that it is only used for players who have played for Torquay, Wycombe or Exeter. Then we can be sure we are getting quality. There are a few misunderstandings around concerning Paul's working relationships. This is far from the truth. He is available to talk to me any day between 11 and 11.30pm; and he assures me that talk of a naughty step at the training ground is mistaken, it's just a stool where tired players can sit for 5,10 or 15 minutes. Paul's relationship with Stuart Campbell is great. Stuart has agreed willingly to focus on playing whilst observing Paul's management technique. I am sure this will benefit Stuart when he enters management! Phil Kite and Keith Brookman ask me to tell you that things could not be better. They both have families to support and are aware that the jobs market is not the place to be at the moment. I have mentioned the fans, and I sense that one or two of you are a little unhappy and think that we should be at the top of this league. I urge those few to get behind the team. Every time the opposition scores cheer and clap a little more. Imagine the wonderful boost that would give the team! So I look forward to seeing you in your thousands on Friday. Times are hard I know, but where else can you get 90 minutes entertainment for £20 ?
