Two promotions and two (?) playoff campaigns in 10 years isn't too bad.

(I won't mention the two relegations to match though).

I'm guessing but it's probably been emptied and filled again a few times.

I think on games to be played that Cardiff will be in 6th place. On games to be played I think Cardiff can score 16 points reading 12 points middlesb 12 points, all hypothetical I know but looking at the fixtures left to play that is the way I think it will go.I don't rate bournmouth . just saying.

Will - I've merged your "Final Push" thread into the Season Thread in response to something another poster has said - I think it makes sense. <ok>

Rain check going into the international break.

From being 7 points behind Reading last weekend, that's now down to 4. They're away to Barnsley next and we've still got to play them.

Bournemouth missed a Championship game yesterday but got thrashed at home by Southampton in the Cup - not an ideal way to go into the international break. An extra catch up game for them to play and they've got Boro next up.

    The rest - forget them.

This is definitely still on for us with the teams mentioned above. Our final 3 games against Wycombe. Birmingham and Rotherham wont be easy, but with the exception of Boro, I wouldn't want any of the other contenders final 3 fixtures instead of ours. Reading in particular have a nightmare run in.

We have several relegation threatened teams to contend with which will be difficult plus Wednesday who won yesterday against the odds so the old mantra applies - ‘there is no easy game in this division.’

Forgot to mention, 2 or even all 3 of those "relegation candidates" could already be down by the time we play them.........<whistle>

Rather them than Reading's games against Swansea and Norwich in their last 3. <ok>

Under 23's lose 1-2 at Brum but Watters scores again.

Tomlin got a full 90 minutes as did Watters, Harris, and Keiran Evans. Also 3 "trialists" played as well.

Good to hear Tomlin got a full game under his belt. He may yet prove to be a massive addition for the run in.

Really would like to see Watters given 30 minutes or so at some point.
The poor guy hasn't had much pitch time at all at 1st team level and I suspect will need minutes to enable him to get used to the pace of games.

It could actually prove beneficial that he and Tomlin are getting time together.
Perhaps a chance to throw them in at the same time given there may be a level of understanding developing?

The EFL would need to introduce 15 minutes each way extra time for that.

Not much content, but gets you thinking about next season.
Who stays, who goes, what signings are required.

    Touched on it before.
Depends on what MM wants as a formation.
Is the current formation out of necessity or how MM wants to play.

Either way, we're ok between the sticks. Bagan and Bennet on the left, Ng on the right meaning a new signing, unless we think Sang can step up.
CB ok, senior 3 plus Brown.

Moore up front, need another signing unless Watters can step up.
Harris as a 10 with Murphy fighting it out for the spot.

    Then you get to midfield.
Dont think its been mentioned in the last few years, but it could possibly do with a freshen up.:emoticon-0112-wonde

Probably have squad players available to us in Pack, Ralls, Vaulks, but need a step up for the starting spots.

So, probably a right back, another striker and a couple CMs.

Can see Tomlin going with Hoilett and Williams.
Probably need to move 1 or two midfielders on to create space.

Lets assume sang is cover at RB, the keeper and defensive spots are covered.
A signing to cover 9 and the attack is sorted.

    Then its the midfield.:emoticon-0101-sadsm

    Good points there remote.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Smithies go as he’s on PL wages.
Our defence is a good mixture of the gnarled and youth; suited for this league.
Our central midfield needs radical surgery; all of them can go in my book as none are exceptional but average solid joe’s.
Tomlin has got match winning quality at this level but if he’s going to be mostly unavailable, MM needs to find someone with that type of quality.
As for the wide players; taxis for Murphy, Whyte and Hoilett.
Up front obviously need more options and better cover for Moore.

That’s of course if we’re drinking at the same saloon next season<whistle>
