You don't seem to realise that the nurses themselves are avoiding tax. They are paying less tax; so they are avoiding tax.

You seem to be embarrassed by your claim that nurses do not avoid tax. You now seem to be trying to deflect attention from your incorrect claim by saying I am "attacking" nurses.
HMRC informed the public that nurses were one of the groups who have been caught trying to avoid tax.
You, with a great deal of lack of knowledge, made out that nurses didnt try to avoid tax.

Thank you for "educating" me in the difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion. How would accountants survive if the ignorant weren't around to educate us!?

I am self employed. I could operate through a limited company if I wished and save tax legitimately. I choose not to as I'd rather not have the hassle for the sake of saving a few thousand pounds in tax.
Saving tax by operating through a company is open to you but it would appear you don't use it through a position of ignorance.
It's not poorly written tax laws, whenever laws are written it's impossible to take into account every circumstance because the law would never be completed. Thank you for the contribution but I doubt anybody will take notice of you.
Tax avoidance is legal. Tax evasion is not. Using a company to pay an employee is tax avoidance. I have mentioned before that inflating "expenses" and paying "loans" that will never be repaid is used and this comes under tax evasion. Therefore you are wrong again when you claim that these companies/individuals are "using the laws as they stand".

I've never had a chance to vote for who I wanted to lead the EU. Have you?

That’s a bit of a straw man argument. No not personally but then I’ve never had the opportunity to vote for any leader of the UK parties.
There is an agreed process which allows member states to vote on the presidency.

So we are agreed that the 400 - 500 million citizens living within the European Union never get to vote for who they want to lead and if they aren't happy with the leader then they'll just have to accept it because there's nothing in place to vote them out for doing a ****e job?

    I still don't think that's very democratic.

It’s the same democracy as UK politics and I assume most of Europe’s politics, not sure why you think that’s not democratic.
In fact from what I read earlier, it appears easier to remove the president if she / he is not up to the job, in a vote of no confidence, than removing one of our political leaders. As I said, I have never had the opportunity to vote for any political leader in the UK, just the party.

He has an amazing gift of being clueless on several topics at once.

He has few genuine thoughts of his own, but seems to be on a crusade to hold the opposing view to anyone that has previously dared reveal the fact that he's a moron. :emoticon-0100-smile

So in the UK whether you vote for the party or leader, you do get the chance to vote for who will be leading our country.

Do you get the chance with the EU to vote for who will be leading that?

Wouldn't the scandal have been greater if you had mentioned that contractors the HMRC use have also been using these disguised renumeration packages. I guess not, as you have been attacking one particular profession for a week or so now.

Going round in circles here. Nope I’ve never had the opportunity to vote for the leader. I’ve voted for a party which I think represents my values, but the leader comes with it. For example at the last election, there was not one leader that I would have voted for. I did however vote for a party whose policy’s were closet to my own beliefs.

There is no party for the European presidency, it’s a position that does have a voting process and a term of office.

Still failing to see how either is undemocratic?

Ursula has gone full Nazi over the vaccine distribution potentially banning the UK from importing their property.

These are the sort of tyrants we are dealing with .

I wonder if a case can be made that she will have blood on her hands ?

    "2.1 What is tax avoidance?
Tax avoidance involves bending the tax rules to try to gain a tax advantage that Parliament never intended. It usually involves contrived transactions that serve no real purpose other than to artificially reduce the amount of tax that someone has to pay. It’s about seeking to operate within the letter but not the spirit of the law.

It’s very different to legitimate tax planning, which is about following the letter and the spirit of the law, and taking advantage of tax breaks in a way that Parliament intended. Putting money into an ISA isn’t tax avoidance because Parliament introduced ISAs as a tax-privileged way of encouraging savings. In contrast, when Parliament passed legislation covering Employee Benefit Trusts, they didn’t intend that people could artificially reduce their tax liabilities through a convoluted process where so-called loans are routed through offshore tax havens.

The reality is that very few avoidance schemes give the tax advantage they claim. And as each of us is personally responsible for paying the right tax under UK law, anyone who enters into an avoidance scheme is taking a big risk.

And while using or selling avoidance schemes is not in itself a criminal offence, HMRC will always consider whether the scheme in fact involves fraud, for example, because it relies on false documents or misrepresenting the facts, and will investigate with a view to a criminal prosecution of the promoter and/or taxpayer where appropriate."
