We had loads of tents sent up on the football pitch at Mahon Road Bks to accommodate the extra squaddies had been called over.

In 85 they looted every shop in Portadown main street. The top of the Garvachy road was blocked off 50 yards down and plate glass windows, shelving units and mannequins were getting launched at the lines. It was a sight to see.

 

Aye that's about right.

We used to drink in Portadown Rugby Club and Bennets but were given a gypsy's warning to stay well away until at least Autumn.
