Posh to play.. Blackpool A Accrington H Fleetwood A Safc H Swindon A Northampton H Gillingham H Charlton A Doncaster H Lincoln H Doncaster A
Just watched the foul on Wyke back again ... ... it was exactly what I thought at the time. If that wasn't enough for a penalty, what would be?
It’s another point and could prove to be a big point. It’s been a tough punishing schedule lately and we have come through it unbeaten. We looked leggy today but against a very good quick mobile team we dug in and got a point so all credit to the lads for that. Time to recharge the batteries and go again next week. Hopefully a little more strength in depth with players returning from injury will help us. Can’t win every week and there will be more twists and turns as we move ahead. Keep the faith.
Peterborough will drop points away to Blackpool on Tuesday. Lincoln away to Oxford Friday night. Hull v Gillingham next week, can see Gillingham getting a point.
What makes you say that mate? You know us and Posh have two games in hand on them? Technically Peterboro are in the driving seat atm. I fancy us and them, with Hull falling into playoffs, personally.
Over the last few weeks our team has looked like a Spitfire limping back from a dogfight over the Channel ... ... a few injuries, frayed at the edges and running out of ammunition. But we made it home and we have a week to rest and patch things up. Haway the Lads!!!
I think LJ might have out thought himself a bit today. Perhaps playing Grant as a defensive midfielder was the wrong choice because it just invited them to hit us on the break. Our pitch certainly suited their pacey counter attacking and they made our midfield look like the over-tired force it was. Playing Ross and Charlie together might have taken some of the pressure off Grant. But the main negative though was the ref who, to put ìt politely, was an absolute tool. Still, Lincoln played well - that Bridcutt fella looks promising and might make a class player one day! Fortunately Burge kept us in it and with the top two also dropping 2 even more unlikely points no real harm was done.
Hull and Peterborough will have been hoping we would drop points today....we did. They both would have expected to win today....they didn't. Ours wasn't the bad result, theirs was.
Think we need this rest with no game midweek. With the injuries and amount of games lately has caught up with us. We haven't been playing fluently for a few games now but got the results but today showed us that we desperately need a break but we have to be positive that the unbeaten run still goes on. We'll come back stronger for it and with injuries clearing up, we're in a strong position. I expected both Hull and Peterborough to win today so it's as you were at the top of the table.
