Stop bringing back all this pain. Let's talk about the good stuff, the last minute winner at Fratton park in 84!
Let's hope we get the early season Saints. The game we beat Newcastle to go top, we were fab, Lots of quick first touch passing. Let's hope a week between games will help. Got a feeling Che will lead us to a tight victory
Is it too early for a beer? Normally say midday on a weekend but 11:15 for a 12:15 ko is acceptable right? Right?
I remember clearly listening to that game on BBC world service while on exercise with the army in what was then West Germany. The reception on the radio was very poor and I knew someone had scored and hoped it was Saints. As the goal was scored I lost the connection and was unable to confirm the result for about a week. Oh, the joys of connections in the world back then.
Just popped over to the Bompey vital football forum for a gander and the general consensus there is that this is a free hit. Apparently they are decimated by injuries and need to get through this unscathed so they can resume after the international break with a full squad. I always think that 'free hit' means you think you are going to lose so you preempt it (think us v city). Let's hope they are going to be happy with no injuries and a 2-0 loss COYS!!!!! #marchtothearch
Che McAdams to celebrate his call up with a brace - 1-3. I don`t recall him scoring with his head, so today`s the day. COYS!
Hope you’re ok, Fats! Look after yourself - we need someone to argue with on these threads ..... As my daughter said to me a few weeks ago (after I slipped and fell down the stairs - and, no, I hadn’t even had a drink) “you’ve got to be careful at your age ....”
I think today’s game is definitely going to parallel the quarter final from ‘76. An away game against a seaside town beginning with a ‘B’. A tight and tough game to be decided by a piece of magic - a JWP free kick.......
I think that this will be the game that we pull it together, it's a break from the PL at least. 2-0 Saints and Che will score.
The sun is always over the yard arm, somewhere in the world. Whatever that means. Must be some sailors among us who can explain.
I think i've posted about the skinny spotty ginger tw@ in a pink Pringle jumper, with an Alan Ball voice bouncing up and down in front of 15 of us shouting "come on Sarfampton!" before...was hilarious..
