Wolves fan here. As you know Kights has had virtually no football in the last two years, so he desperately needs a run of games. If he can get back near his best, though you are in for a treat. This move makes sense for both sides, and I suspect Mick is just hedging his bets. If Jarvis, Hunt and Hammill stay fit I expect the loan can be extended. The only thing is he will have to play. I can't see McCarthy accepting him warming your bench rather than ours.
i can't imagine for a moment that he won't be playing. We need him as much as he needs to play He'd better be good though!
Great loan deal...reminds me a lot of when we got Johnson on loan,if Knightly has half the result AJ had we could be in for a happy period. Word of warning. Don't let him go back to soon, look what happened when we lost AJ.
if he does very well he will go back to his parent club !! if not its us that loses out, no probs to the wolves!
at least on paper we have a bit more bite upfront compated to the useless wanderings of the present incumbents!
I think they want him to get match fit...so we'll probably get the guy till January. Unlike in recent years hopefully we'll have a soulution incase he does get re-called..rather than being left with a big hole like when Johnson,Mutch and Taylor went back in recent years mid-way through a season.
There are 3 differences: 1. Johnson was fit 2. Johnson was till January whilst this loan is clearly for 1 month only. The only way it will be extended is if he isn't looking fit & in form by that time 3. Johnson was and is a better player. I hope Kitley is 1/2 way fit in which case he will definitly make a difference and it might be that we are expecting Weimann to return later subject to Villa injuries.
No point getting excited then! http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/9301404.McCarthy_hints_Kightly_stay_will_be_brief/?
If it means we can drop Sordell for a few games until he realises that just because your playing for Eng u-21's doesn't mean you can get away with being so horribly lazy for your club, then i'm all for it.
Definitely against this type of loan - if McCarthy is so determined that it will be a month at most. It disrupts the development of our own players and surely cannot be as productive as many people on this board seem to think. Most new players need at least 2-3 games with their new team-mates to even hint at what they can deliver. Kightly will have, at most, 6 games with us. The last couple of games, he will be looking to avoid any injury that would prejudice his return to Molyneux and a place in the Wolves team. Plus there is the demotivational factor of whoever he replaces in the team. No, I can't help feeling that the benefit is all to Wolves & Kightly and very little to us - I feel Watford are being used in this respect (albeit willingly).
Since he'd already had starts, it seemed weird that he would have a loan at all, but it was certainly not going to be a long one...i doubt we'll be able to persuade them to let him stay til January. And from what i here, there's no way Weimann will be back because he seems to have moved up the pecking order...
