The club had no choice on that. The anti football, anti Hull City Humberside Plod had them in a corner.
I don't need your help to set anything up thank you. I've been 'donating' to this club since 1964, although I call it support and I'm still doing it.. I have a different view to yours obviously. Good luck in what you do. There has been a Hull City Supporters Club way before Adam Pearson came on the scene. Have a look at them during Raich Carters days when they organised away trips, dances and fund raising events for the club, and then look how many members they had.
In Raich Carter's days up to 30 coaches transported 1,500 members of the Bridlington Supporters Club to City games. My dad worked Saturdays but used to go to midweek games on his half day off as they were afternoon kick offs in those pre floodlight days. He wasn't a City fan, just liked football.
They really are a tawdry pair of tits. At approx £40 a ticket, say 250 slack jawed heathens attending = £10k approx less costs. Is the club really that hand to mouth that they should consider this? Would like to think we’re not quite as hard up as York City, who on the basis of supporters reactions chose to forgo their 30 pieces of silver. The whole thing might have been slightly more palatable if the first announcement had been a night with Hull City Legends and then the other shysters afterwards. It appears that is not in their thinking though i.e. what Hull City supporters want. We shouldn’t be surprised though, it’s par for the course.
Aren’t the terrible twosome the directors of the SMC, or at least the directors of Allamhouse Limited, under which umbrella of companies SMC sits? As a director of SMC didn’t EA (not sure if AA did) have to answer in court regarding the Airco Arena evictions, and the tribunals for dismissing the grounds men? We can argue about the semantics, but top and bottom of this, is once again the club deals with something in a ham fisted way that antagonises it ‘customer base’
If Ehab had any thought about trying to stay here and win back support from fans (I know...stick with my imaginary world for a moment) then he should have told the organisers to sod off, and then put a media statement out explaining that on this occasion he felt that it was more important to respect the views of City fans than bring income in. Little cost to the SMC, but a huge positive message to fans showing some understanding of how strong we can often feel about things. An attempt to start to heal rifts even maybe. PR? Piece of piss. In fact he can have it as free consultancy if he wants as there's still time to do it. He won't though.
He could let it run, and film the faces of the unwashed as the three legends are introduced. Ian Ashbee, Justin Whittle, Dean Windass....
There might be a fire risk mind you. Not sure that many static ridden polyester rugby league shirts rubbing together indoors is a good idea.
And here's something that's not even from the World of Make Belief. On this very thread, we have two posters who over time have been instrumental in organising SUPPORTER LED events for SUPPORTERS OF HULL CITY. Not flash in the pan one offs, but several over years. And at all times WELL ATTENDED raising money for the club / individuals / organisations. To those club employees that read this and other sites (oh yes you do), why do you not get in touch with them and create nights that live long in the memory? If there is the will to do this on both sides (supporter AND club) mountains would be moved to get events on. Such a lot of historical damage could be repaired (but rightfully not forgotten) at a stroke. But as we know, it all comes back to ....
I just despair. We're allowing TWS to hold a function at The Circle! You can't be surprised at this of course, you can't be surprised at the level of ****ishness the Allams will sink to, to piss off our fan base. I and so many other Hull City City fans know this their intention. Yet the same old faces on here jump to their defence and those same old faces will deny they're doing this. That's called 'Not having the courage of your convictions' and its so sad to me. Now of course I know this will fall on deaf ears, but come on Ehab. Get it cancelled. You'll eventually, when times are better, get more money from doing that than you will from having Leeds United have a party at your own business.
The facts are that Hull City is a tenant of the SMC. There is no relationship between the events team at the SMC and the club other than as customers just the same as Hull FC. I do not want TWS at any celebration style event at the KCOM. It isn’t a TWS event it is a SuperStar event. They run the same thing for loads of other clubs and sports stars. I made Hull City aware of this event as soon as it was posted on here. What happens now is up to the SMC and Ehab. If posters post ****e it needs correcting and some of the same old faces have posted ill informed ****e.
You does this every time is it to try and justify you not going? No ones defending them They’re ****s true It looks like they have had nothing to do with this currently But, the club needs money and they do not give a **** where it comes from That’s them Not us If we suddenly got ten thousand pass holders coming back it would show them things like this don’t need to be done. But that isn’t going to happen is it So if you don’t want **** like this happening at your club Come back Get involved Do something If not let it wither on the vine like it has so many times in the past
You are closer to the club than most of us so I was taking a wild guess about the Allams day-to-day involvement with the running of the events diary of the SMC. The Allams own the club and the SMC, but I don't expect them to micro manage every decision that SMC makes. It would be great if whoever authorised this event could be made aware of how unwise it was so no further similar events are scheduled in. It's sad that this thing has even got off the ground and that people so apathetic/ unaware are left to deal with booking out the hospitality. Look forward to hearing it's been scrubbed.
I simply had an exchange of texts to the press and PR officer. Anyone can contact the club, I have occasional personal contact via my role in publishing TigerMag. I don’t want or need to have any other direct contact. I am however in regular direct contact with the ex Tigers and if posters want a Legends style event I will see what I can do, but my betting is that the ****s who shout the most about this current TWS thing will not either help out or even come to it.
If Ehab put out a statement that he was approached to put on a Leeds United legends night at the KC but he kicked the bloke in the balls and told him to piss off then instantly he would have become a lot more popular. It’s not rocket science is it.
