I'm sorry, but no. Win ratio doesn't mean ****, especially in international football where you get drawn against piss poor teams in qualifiers. There's no way we'll win the euros, we always get our arses handed to us when it comes to better teams, or better yet, better managed teams in the major tournaments. Redknapp will be installed after the euros- Capello will probably get another big money Deal in Russia.

I cant see Redknapp being an improvement of what we've already got. He does well at club level because of his handling of transfer dealings. However I believe we do need to stick with English managers from now on; that whole 'I can manage a team using only 100 words' bull**** by Capello really pissed me off. On an multiple million pound contract, has been living in the country for 4 years now and still hasn't mastered the language- what a ****ing joke the FA truly are!

Why? Many national teams have success with foreign managers and Sven and Capello have been our best two for a while.

Gomez, Higuain, Van Persie, Dzeko, Neymar, Aguero, Villa, Torres. All better than Rooney. Bent has 4 in 11 for England, he wouldn't get in many teams qualifying for Euro 2012. You need to start watching some football outside of England then you'll see we are actually miles behind everyone else

All of them aren't better than Rooney. Rooney is an amazing striker! He pisses me off though doing stupid things like kicking out. I do watch foreign football - not a lot though as it is **** and boring most of the time.

But that's all we've ever done and will ever do. We aren't anywhere near as good as other countries and it shows with our records against them so i don't see how Capello's done any worse when we've rarely beat better nations anyway. We've also got one of our worst teams in years while Spain, Germany & Holland look better than they have for years, so how can you expect to beat them?

Which of these strikers isn't better than Rooney then. I can't wait to laugh at this.

Torres, Gomez, Dzeko and Van Persie all better than Rooney? What you been smoking pal?
I wouldn't say Rooney is top 3 but he's definitely up with the best.

Sorry pal but we need way more than a passionate manager to solve the problems we've got. Fact is we've got too many fans who think we're way better than we are. Look at our team compared to Germany, Spain, Holland etc, they **** all over us in terms of quality and that's only in Europe. We had our chances for glory recently particularly in '98 but moments of madness from our players cost us, sorry but I really believe we're going to go a hell of a lot longer without a trophy. Capello is doing pretty damn decent with what he's got.

They are all good but not better than Rooney. Would say only Van Persie, Aguero, Villa and Torres when he at his best are near his level. Neymar in the future and Higuain is brilliant. Gomez and Dzeko are also good but no in Rooney's class - I'm his biggest fan! The lad is awesome

I agree that we aren't up to the class of them teams, but I think we need a change to give us a chance. I see no positivity at all towards England atm and it hurts tbh because I love England and to see loads of people not caring about England pisses me off! We have one of the top teams in the world tbh, not as good as Spain, Germany, Holland but if you but the likes of Rooney, Terry, Cole, Wilshere and build round them we can't be far off

Agreed. Love Van Persie, but would say Rooney is up there with him and Villa in the world of strikers

Torres is going through what Rooney went through last season and it's pretty clear is starting to look back at his best. Goal scoring record is much better and has actually managed to score a goal at the world cup.
Unless you've hid under a rock the past year look at Gomez last season and this season and you'll see he's miles better.
Dzeko showed in Germany why he's such a good striker and is doing it in now in England, two footed and great with his head.
Van Persie probably one of the best technically gifted strikers around.
I'd take all of them over Rooney any day.

I do agree, but I think our squad is coming out of a bad patch that was South Africa. We have some very good, exciting youngsters coming through the ranks now.

It's evident we always fall short in the tournaments. High expectations, zero confidence and completely lack any real drive or passion. We need a real motivator who gets the players fired up and full of confidence. You'd be surprised how much further we'd get!

Foreign football is **** and boring most of the time. If that's not the most ridiculous generalisation I've ever read on this board I'd like to see what is. Rooneys relative merits notwithstanding, the second we come up against Germany, Spain or anyone else who can actually play as a team we'll go out, and Harry Rednapp is not the man to stop that trend. Hell, Arsene Wenger is a better shout.

Rooney aside, other Euro teams piss all over us, especially in midfield. Arteta would waltz into our midfield, and he can't even get in the Spain squad, he's like 15th choice...
