I was of course joking Seahoop, we also did it ( ironically ) against West Brom at home a few years ago when Charlie Austin scored a second half hat-trick.
Yes! When he first arrived, I noticed he did seem to look really awkward on the ball but had a knack for getting in great attacking situations. He went off the boil for a while but has recently become a leader on the pitch.
Fantastic second half from us. We rode our luck at times with them missing excellent chances to extend their lead. Dykes was much improved tonight, whilst Willock was superb, meaning it was a little strange that he was replaced. Austin looked off the pace again, but still scored with a great header. The second was brilliantly fashioned by Willock, winning the ball in midfield before releasing Dykes, who played the right ball to the over lapping Wallace who crossed. Johansen did well to sort his feet out to finish. The third was a brilliant header from de wijs. Wallace has really grown on me and looks a good, steady championship player who never stops steaming down the wing when given half the chance. The back three did well with the aerial bombardment, but Kane was shockingly bad. That Warburton is a tactical genius eh?
Sorry mate, but I think you'll find that Austin's first goal was a penalty in the first half. Get it right!
I had thought, at 2-2 that I would be happy with another goal - that's sorted; but I was hoping for one in injury time
Yes, we should have been 4 down by time we scored, I seem to remember I used Beth's season ticket that day courtesy of Roller...
Was it? My memory is slightly clouded. I was probably fixated that we beat them 3-2 after going down 2-0, and it reminded me of the final score against the same opposition. Oh well, I hit the post there.
I was at that game too with Mrs Rangercol. By the end even she was singing Charlie, Charlie, Charlie.... Imagine how loftus road would have been rocking tonight.
Just in case the youngsters don't get this joke, it was a reference to when Norwegian commentator Bjorge Lillelian referenced famous English people in a monologue after Norway beat England 2-1 in 1981 ...
