Tricky on paper but if we are serious about top 4 we have to beat Arsenal. In fact it looks like only wins will be good enough until the end of the season. We are running out of games and 1 point is simply not good enough when we have to make at least 5 points just to get level.
I agree we need 70 points, 9 games to get 24 points. That isn't any margin at all. 73 points would be better but a very massive massive ask. As I said before despite the wise cracks we can only take it one at a time and see. Chelsea only then need 20 points to get to 71 and have potential for 27 as well. That says to me that we need a few big favours
I am looking at Leicester as well as Chelsea. The top 4 will be playing each other so we have to hope that these 2 actually lose a few games so that they open up the space. There are also teams below us who have games in hand. In fact the scrap for top 4 goes hand in hand with a scrap for the Europa. We depend on others tripping up. Are Spurs guaranteed to get a Europa place as they are in the league cup final and City are CL place bankers?
Surely them being 5pts ahead tells you we need them to drop points without all that over thinking stuff?

In that case the 4th placed side in the league goes to the europa as a maximum of 5 from one country are allowed. Further the Europe spaces are actually reduced as it would be 1. City (league winners, fa Cup, league cup = cl) 2. Utd (cl) 3. Leicester (cl play off) 4. Chelsea (europa) 5. West ham (europa) 6. Spurs. (Cl place) 7. Everton (europa) 8. Liverpool (cl winners, cl) Please note a maximum of 8 places are allowed for one country, normally it is actually 7 plus europa say.

He’s not been great. But Walker barely plays. Trippier been banned for 10 weeks. And James has been rotating with Hudson-Odoi at RWB. seems an odd one but he doesn’t replay same style at England anyway and generally play a back 5 which doesn’t suit him as much anyway

well this time round half the team cannot travel and the same is 4:30pm on the sunday so there is no excuse. Its ideal to really work. with kabak likely sat on a bench i would hope we've worked like dogs this week prior to release. the FAcup and europa etc means squad won't have assembled yet til the weekend.
