Dai for someone who says he knows about football, of course the contract counts ! <doh> his salary is beyond what millwall can afford so a majority will have to be paid by us, does it make sense to send him out on loan, lose him for that time, pay most of wages, and possibly struggle for options at some point in the season ?

I suggest you read the link above

Why resort to personal insults Dai? I only said your view was unsurprising considering you've historically never rated him even when we were in the Championship and he went on to be an instrumental part in delivering the Prem to this Club. Whatever happens you won't find many people agreeing that he's not good enough. If he wasn't would he even be on the bench? Not a chance.

As others have said he's now come out and said he's staying so I guess that answer your question:

"so what should he do mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm let me think.......stay or have a chance of playing regular championship football on loan.......what do you think a professional footballer would choose if it was up to him....answers on a postcard please to kangaroo jack......i thank you"

Postcard just in:

Evening Post: "“I don’t want to go out on loan,” Dobbie said.

“I have worked all my career to get to the Premier League, so now that I am here I am not going to give it up without a fight. I hadn’t heard anything about Millwall being interested and I don’t know anything about it. But it’s nothing for me anyway. I am just working hard in training and doing my best in the reserve games to try to get back into the team.”

Epic fail, Dai! <laugh>

<doh> that was not the question ..Jeez Wake up.......he will go out on loan if Brendan says so..end of......If Brendan wants him to go out on loan that indicates that he is not part of the team this season unless we are desperate and if that scenario occures then we can recall him at any time....If Brendan wants him to play first team football then that's what he will do.... out on loan.....watch this space, so kangaroo jack what you reckon....<laugh>

Don't see any reason why he should go out on loan. What for?? He's a valuable member of the squad & unless Routledge 'all of a sudden' becomes a contributor in the goal stakes, or for that matter, any sort of contributor on the park at all!! Dobbie should be starting in my opinion. I'll admit I thought he played better in the last game against Stoke, but I'm still left far from convinced by him!! "Run fast, look busy!!" That's how I sum him up. Loved to be proved wrong though!! Doesn't have half the 'nous' that Dobbie has to unlock a defence. People go on about Dobbie being off the pace. He hasn't had the match time to justifiably claim he's off the pace!!!!

He knows where the goal is too. Scoring 3 in the last two reserve games........

it's a tough season and we need all the quality we can get - I stick by Brendan's words, about needing a squad and not 11 players... Dobbie will play his part this season i'm sure..... he should stay imo.

And yet there are no quotes of Brendan saying that he wants to ship Dobbie out on loan, and Dobbie has said that doesn't want to go out on loan... So how are we drawing conclusions that Dobbie won't be here for very much longer?

Brendan obviously rates Dobbie - or else he wouldn't have made 5 appearances in 7 games, and been included in at least the match day squad every game so far.

The original question was actually asking whether you agree/disagree with the prospect of Dobbie being sent out on loan. It was only a prospect, not a factual event, and you stated that you agreed with that possibility. However, that doesn't make it a fact - and the only evidence in the public domain (quotes from Dobbie) point towards a loan never happening. With no noise coming out of Brendan on the subject, everyone is completely in the dark on his thoughts here.

Even if he does end up going out on loan, your guess will only be proved correct through nothing more than dumb luck.

I've never been so confused on a player as I am on Dobbie !! I thought Sousa was a bit harsh on the player Martinez brought in . But now that Buck has put him on the back burner , I'm lost . Seems a playmaker with a good shot but not so good impression at the club . Blackpool wanted to buy him after we loaned him out to them , there's a behind the scenes story here that nobody knows about IMO . Myself , I would play Dobbie ahead of Routledge in the middle anytime a spot there is available .

Dobbie will not go out on loan! Rodgers would need to see a psychiatrist if that were to happen, and it's about time he was given some game time, I'm not a fan of Routlidge, he'll never put the ball in the back of the net, but Dobbie will, so sort it out Rodgers! Who scored the best goal at Wembley??............

Imo Buck would be nuts to let him go on loan. I hope we have learned our lesson from the Blackpool debacle - you will all know that, amongst other things, debacle means something that fails in an embarrassing way; and I believe that Dobbie embarrassed Sousa with his performances for Blackpool and since for us.

He is an intelligent footballer who chips in with more than a few valuable goals and, for me, he should be regarded as an integral squad member who will get his share of games as the season progresses. No footballer is perfect and being picky I would criticise his lack of pace and lack of work rate - I would suspect that Buck is also particularly not impressed with the latter.

That said, he has other qualities which I believe will benefit the team when he does play. My vote, keep him.

Not sure if that one was meant for me 99 , I thought by saying I would play him ahead of Routledge might give you a hint . No , I wouldn't loan Dobbie out in a million years . Moore , Orlandi & Butler would be loans I might be tempted to make though ! .

Dai. The post was put up before Dobbie has come out in the media and scotched the rumours. Think you'll find the player has a major say in this. As kidderz points out, Rodgers hasn't said it's happening either. Before the comments in the press you seemed to think he'd choose to go out on loan rather than have 'no chance' with us. Well we now know you were wrong about that.

Others have pointed out that he's played some part in most of our games this far and by scoring 3 in 2 for the reserves is pushing hard to start. Hardly 'no chance' is it? Whatever the case, most seem to think he'll play a part and he does too by the sounds of things which is great news. I'm glad that most fans here are not as quick to give up on players as others.

let me simplify on whether i agree or not agree to the question asked.. by Aussie......

I don't have a problem if he decides at some point to go out on loan or if he don't go out on loan.....it don't matter as there are pluses and minuses whatever happens...<ok>

Should he go on loan, or should he stay? His work ethic is`nt all that brilliant, but he does score goals. As said above, there are others I would loan out before Dobs.
We`ve still got a long way to go before the end of the season, injuries are bound to happen and if we`ve loaned out Dobbie we could be in the cachi. So he should stay ............ and score some goals for us.

Surely he'll stay for the money. I doubt he would take a wage cut for permenant first team football. He would rather go out on loan and have both money and football

That's the problem, not many championship clubs can afford his wages, so we would have to pay most of them. Would you lot have afforded Bellamy last season without Man City paying most of the wages ?
