Yeah but lets be fair, you had San Marino (0 points and -49 goal difference), and Moldova, Finland, and Hungary (combined goal difference of 0) behind you in the group, and Holland let you win because they'd won the first 9 games and had nothing to play for except injuries and suspensions. :p

Take Holland away and you'd expect to be topping that group before the final round of games. Before tonight you'd played all your games in that mini group and were waiting on other results to make sure of it. :emoticon-0103-cool:

    Pff.

Yeah, San Marino, Moldova and Finland are all awful.
    Hungary are pretty decent
But Holland didn't let us win. They have more or less won all their games in the last two qualifications and had a good team today.

    1. Michel Vorm, målvakt
    2. Gregory van der Wiel
    3. Jeffrey Bruma
    4. Joris Mathijsen
    5. Erik Pieters
    6. Mark van Bommel, lagkapten
    7. Robin van Persie
    8. Kevin Strootman
    9. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
    10. Rafael van der Vaart
    11. Dirk Kuyt

Sure, Sneider and Robben were missing, but they played really good. They just weren't good enough :D

Pleased to be fair feb, sweden are one of those sides I always feel should be at a major tournament. Ibrahimovic always comedy value as well (unless he's retired from international football?). His current pony tail is entertaining itself

Ibra is over rated. He missed todays game due to two previous yellow cards :) Thank god for that.

I just read that Sweden has only lost one competetive game when Ibra hasn't played.
Sure, he does "something special" occasionally, but isn't a good team player.

I always understood that the English were laughed at by the continent for thinking ibra was ridiculously overrated just by looking at his record against English sides.

You're not there yet Febbos. Although you can still get the best second placed team.

Some interesting matches to come, and some of the groups haven't finished.

I didn't expect to see Greece win their group infront of Croatia. Estonia to come second ahead of Serbia and for Bosnia to come ahead of Romania.

Estonia are a weird one, they usually struggle. Wonder if they still have Mart Poom playing for them........

We don't play them because unlike Sweden, we're a top seed.

Seriously though, Febbos is an example of how English people should feel about their national team. He is over the moon that they finished second. We won our group the other day and everyone moaned about it. English football fans have had their minds poisoned by all the glossy magazine bollocks who want us all to hate our national heroes. We really, really need to sort ourselves out, but I suspect it'll take a good run at a major tournament before fans will go back to saying anything positive about the national team.

It's not just against English sides, it seems to be any game televised in England he has a terrible performance. I don't think I've ever even seen him score a goal while watching a game. He must have one of the biggest differences between career goals/game and televised in England goals/game ratios in the world.
