You forgot the Champagne Socialist bit. Just opened a nice vintage Bollinger to celebrate Rishi's latest largesse!

Morse said “allowing The Sun to pass before your eyes does not amount to reading”. So you comment without bothering with the ruling given by The Hon. Mr Justice Holgate.

The High Court ruled that this was a matter for interpretation by the police because attending a large public gathering would be unlawful under the pandemic law. He refused to issue a declaration that “persons who are exercising their right to protest in a reasonable manner will have a reasonable excuse for gathering”. So the law says no public gathering; however, the police can use their discretion to determine the nature of the gathering – which they had already refused to allow.

The applicants had sought to have the court rule that they could gather under the Human Rights Act but that was dismissed, the judge refusing to issue any ruling that could be misinterpreted as legal authorisation. Which part of “you can only gather with police authorisation” did these women not understand?

The police should have just gone around handing out £10,000 fines to all participants. If they are serious about their cause, shelling out £10,000 for being there could be viewed as a badge of honour. Perhaps they could have started a crowdfunding page so their sisters could contribute.

Interesting that the police went to the trouble of showing up. The same police force has openly turned a blind eye to protests by anarchists from Extension Rebellion and anarchists from Black Lives Matter in recent times. Metropolitan Police policy does appear to be a bit inconsistent. Perhaps a vigil by some women is not considered woke enough. It is surprising that police in London have time for this sort of activity as it appears to be completely lawless under Sadiq Khan.

That simply can't be true. The experts in the safe space melted whenever that was suggested.

Weird that when the 7 year old girl had her head cut off in Bolton whilst riding her scooter in a park there wasn't vigils and media attention.

Could if be because the murderer was a female immigrant?

Curfew on Immigrant women to keep our children safe perhaps?
