So, where did everyone finish? I managed 2nd in the end, was very lucky with the rain near the end as my fuel was nearly out.
If you guys want to know the future.. send $50 to account 5003 00 567 83 and ill be happy to tell you lol I finished 2nd!!!! WOOOOHOOO lol im soo happy im gonna dance around here for a bit
WTF!!! On lap 51 I pit for no reason at all (fuel 21%, tyres 57%). Finished 4th, should of finished 2nd.
What did you have in "pit in XX amount of laps b4 the end if it starts to rain" It started raining that lap didn't it?
6th! Not bad for my first race. I copied Chrispa's strategy (sorry, and thanks!) for a starting point, and made 4 places in the last 3 laps to get into the points. Qualified 19th, way off the pace, but the race worked well. Stopped 4 times in the end, so I think the weather must have worked in my favour, as others pitted 6 times. My pit crew appear to be the issue, one of my stops was 11 seconds slower than someone else's. Cheers for the hints guys!
Conrad Sathirweth suffers a tyre puncture but manages to bring his car back to the pits Unlucky there Mif.. That's awesome DHC! I'm glad I could help
finished 9th in the end, just 0.4 off 8th, gotta love the race commentary "Matt Bryan has the speed but Balaceanu Claudiu-doru takes the racing line into the corner and keeps the place" lol. Unlucky race with the strategy today, dry one next please. Well done with your results guys.
Looks like it is going to be an even worse race next time.. between 60-80% chance of rain throughout the race
Will be interesting strategy wise. I might just repeat my 'do not stop for rain tyres' strategy again.
yeah i saw the that, the big questions is, do you start the race on wet tyres even though it is dry to start with, 75-80% 0-30mins has to be yes
Or start on really low fuel, and the softest tyres possible? That's the option I'm considering. If it starts dry, then you've got a near-quali set-up to try and gain ground, then refuel when it rains?
great plan, probably put 20ltrs to start just in case it waits a 5 laps, though after the last race you guys may want to do the opposite of what i am doing lol
Im thinking of doing a 2-3 stopper on 100% rain tyres throughout (and yes possibly starting on extra soft with very low fuel not pitting for weather change until early scheduled stop). Not sure yet tho. I never driven rain tyres on a dry track.. how many seconds slower are they?
I think I might do a 4 stopper and not come in for rain tyres when it starts raining, just wait until my scheduled pitstop and vice versa when it stops raining; that way the rain will not screw up my fuel and I will not lose out too much time on the wrong tyres because I will be on short stints.
