So is this incident going to change the way any of us on here behave when we talk about or are around women ? This place, being a footie forum is probably one of those places where sexism and objectifying women is par for the course. We've got the Wid ye thread and the like, but that's all harmless banter right ? Me personally, I think there's a place for it all, I don't want to see an over the top response where men are demonised for sexualising women. And at the same time, I want to see young lads (and girls) in school being taught about healthy relationships and what's appropriate and how abuse starts. I've got a daughter. And nearly all of us on here have got women in our immediate families, so we've all got a vested interest in this.
Yeah, mass gatherings are just a bad idea at the moment, regardless of the issue. That should be pretty fundamental really.
...but Munse will point out that the police were only capable of managing a gathering of women protesting against the needless murder of one of their sex and the right not to be molested ... ... they couldn't possibly manage a gathering of men intent on celebrating a successful campaign of kicking a plastic ball between a wooden frame over a designated number of fixtures against other men attempting the same... ... makes you wonder why we bother with a police force
I didn't suggest anyone did. I merely highlight two events, only a week apart, one event handled by Met Police the other by the Scots.
It's called managing your police force and management of situations in the process. I'll also point out something my old mother taught me growing up and it's something alot of people can't seem to accept and it's that two wrongs don't make a right.
What about when BLM meets Women’s Rights, I need to understand if bitches still ain’t **** but hoes and tricks. It’s too confusing, I might just have to use common sense.
Football has proven over the last few decades, that they (police) are no longer needed at matches, instead replaced by stewards in the main. This moved the police out of the frame, hence no longer a hooligans target. The police could have followed this same format last night, but chose not to, but women are easier prey, then Sccottish football fans as endorsed by the Met.
Which brings us right around to the contrasting police approaches to the Rangers fans and the women intent on a vigil for a murdered girl ... and the inevitable conclusion the the police approach to the latter was completely out of kilter if the approach to the former was in any way suitable ...
Which literally nobody has said it was. So you’re arguing with yourself about two different police forces mate, I can’t do anything about that I’m afraid.
Dr Dre knows. Yeah, part of the problem is common sense seems to be in short supply sometimes. So I guess some people need it to be spelt out for them.
Exactly. I watched a video on YouTube the other day of a bloke stood outside a hospital giving $100 to the staff when they come in and out of the hospital as a thank you for working hard. Lovely gesture but evidently lacking basic common sense. He was bounced after about 5 minutes.
Most of the criticism about the police action last night was that it was heavy handed ... can't really see how anyone can disagree with that.
Depends if they told the crowd to disperse and were ignored. Contrasting that to how other countries police would have dealt with it. The irony is that those who were gathering must have assumed a false sense of security.
Yeah, you could blame the people who jumped him, they are obviously in the wrong, but ... When it comes to the issue around women feeling safe, I think the whole convo has got jumbled out of proportion. Most people know the difference between winking at a woman, and raping and killing her, but it seems like everything is off limits and that's not healthy for either sex. Was chatting to a mate about this yesterday. He was saying how ordinary it used to be to pinch a girl's bum at a nightclub and then offer a drink, standard Essex nightclub behaviour in the 90's. He's not a perv or a predator, but that sort of stuff now will earn you a sexual harassment charge.
