Tbf you can probably apply the top 1 to a few people and the 2nd one to everyone depending on your area, especially london.

For the 1st, all the anti china news i am probably on the hitlist of daylight crimes (lots of anti asian abuse) but fortunately i haven't been a victim of this yet.

As for 2, i think living in London you just have to be aware, especially as i was mugged once in the evening. In my local development group i hear quite a lot of violent muggings and in the news theres quite a lot of stabbings nowadays so you can never be too careful (i live in south east London).

3 or 4 are way down the list for men but its a different sort of crime that men attract

This was my first thought , that and the fact they had been told they couldn’t hold the vigil in the first place .
It’s all very sad , as is the world in general these days :(

No I wasn't missing the point I was making one that was correct

Basically remove all the bullshit here and there's a sad reality

Bad people exist have always existed and will continue to exist.

I must thankyou for actually answering the question though be ause ultimately that's the question what do these protesters want them to do to make them feel safe?

My argument was and remains the same... It cannot be done and people should never walk around this or any environment without looking over their shoulder because this isn't a game.. This is the jungle.

That's my opinion and im entitled to it.

    You're wrong.

Fear is one of the most basic human emotions. ... From the time we're infants, we are equipped with the survival instincts necessary to respond with fear when we sense danger or feel unsafe. Fear helps protect us. It makes us alert to danger and prepares us to deal with it.

    The benefits of fear
    • Fear keeps you safe. ...
    • Fear helps you lose weight. ...
    • Fear temporarily boosts your immune system. ...
    • Feeling fear—in the right dose—is fun and exciting. ...
    • Fear gives you a natural high and a sense of empowerment. ...
    • Fear helps you manage stress and relaxes you.

So now I've made is clear my comment was not bollocks ill ask it once again

What can the police do to remove the dangers? I'm not being a dick here, but so far I've had more street lighting and I'm afraid that's not going to cut it... Personally I think flying to the moon was easier, but I'm not saying things can't be done.

Lockdown is lockdown. The police responded correctly. Not sure how anybody can even argue that point.

Would you think it's alright if you one of those attending the vigil caught coronavirus and then passed it on to somebody who died? Everybody else has to wait until they meet up, or they'll do events by zoom. You can't just take to the streets as it's irresponsible as **** during a pandemic.

The police should be issuing fines to the idiots.

Munse - the discussion is about the right for women to be able to walk around at night in a civilized society without being abused, verbally or physically ... not some video game in which "fear is your friend" or the mean streets of a war zone.

A young woman lost her life walking home at 9pm in the evening in our biggest city. That shouldn't happen for so many reasons ... not just because she didn't train as a ****ing ninja.

There's no excuses for it. The women and organisers are completely irresponsible and so are the people supporting them. Now they're trying to turn that into a police issue and it's a disgrace. I don't usually back up the police but I'd happily throw my full support behind them on the way they've handled this investigation and the idiots who thought lockdown doesn't apply to them.

That's right it is and there's been a protest based around the fear women have on the streets and then wanting the police to do more, so I correctly pointed out that fear is necessary and was aggressively told I was talking bollocks.

I'm simply asking what these women want them to do? I'm also correct in saying that NOBODY should ever walk the streets thinking they're safe.

This idea of a civilised society ever being safe is great btw, but you've really got no ****ing idea have you.

    That's all im saying

Never going to happen like people would see. London is a dangerous **** hole and it always has been.

Men and women are always being attacked and murdered there. Plenty of stabby stabby **** on men who won't hand over their mobile phone.

What about that man in Manchester with hundreds of multiple rapes solely on men?

No man or woman should feel unsafe on the streets but we have to accept in a population of about 55 million there's always going to be a few loose cannons that we will always come up against, sadly.

Finally someone that gets what I'm trying to say.

Feeling safe gets you killed mate..

The argument about night and day is interesting because it reminds me of people that get themselves drowned jumping in a body of water they think 'looked safe' then after they drown they blame it on not enough awareness being made or not enough danger signs, but the simple fact is that water can and will kill you.... Essentially my argument is that this isn't a safe world and if you feel too safe you'll get yourself killed.

It must be awful for women I get that and I hope things can be done, but if they think waking around feeling safer is a good idea im Going to disagree I'm afraid.

Incredible how many folk are siding with the vigil here. The illegal vigil. Is the virus somehow going to walk past those people because they’re paying their respects to a murdered woman? No it’s not.

67 million people have been locked down in their homes for the best part of a year, perhaps that’s justification for these UTTER ****WITS to be sent home by any means necessary. **** the millions of people who will be suffering from mental health issues and **** the NHS staff who are worked to the bone though, Claire, Sue and Debbie want to stand in a huge crowd, in silence, for a stranger.
