I once had a holiday romance with a bird from Plymouth, so have a soft spot for them. We met on a skiing holiday, then once back i went to see her one weekend and tied it in with watching Town away to Brizzle City. Can't remember the result as was about 34 (more or less) years ago but I remember taking a bit of a whooping from a load of her jealous mates. Never went back again funnily enough but it was worth it, if only for the jiggy jiggy!!
So the weird IFollow ritual starts for another Saturday. There’s so much of the real match day experience I am presently missing. Hey ho, 2-1 Town!! COYB!!
I'll go with BigAl 2-1, improved performance, a howler or two, and worth my now weekly tenner. Interesting line-up, resting or injured Norwood?
Paul Cook's influence is already starting to be seen in the way the team are playing. Good start from us.
Great covering from Wilson, who has been playing well since returning from injury. He's even making runs forward with the ball when the opportunity is there, nice stuff.
We’ve got to get our foot back on the accelerator,we’re in danger of letting Argyle back into this game.
So we go for a cup of tea at 1-0. Good start from us with quick passing and picking up the second ball more often we were all over Plymouth. Got a goal from a mistake and it looked like it could be a rough night for Plymouth but the game became more even as the half wore on. We need a second goal to make things a bit more comfortable as Argyle have made a few chances on the counter attack, most of the crosses coming from our right hand side Two things I noticed from the first half - More one and two touch football than we've seen for a while. Player movement at throw-ins. Such simple improvements but definitely noticeable. Once Cook can get some proper training sessions in we will really start to see what he wants us to do, it does look promising already.
I have been mortally wounded by the hope for years now! Perhaps we are seeing the first shoots of a new era. Must get that 2nd goal quickly. We do miss Norwood's threat up front.
