The simpleton jumped at the sub-editors headline because it suits his derangement, without reading the full text. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

The Office of National Statistics was keen to add the relevant health warnings alongside the Brexit trade figures this morning.

Some of the drop in both imports and exports may be attributable to firms on both sides of the channel stockpiling ahead of the end of the Brexit transition period - so they didn't need to move as many goods in January. Some will also be down to the pandemic and in some industries that's difficult to disentangle from any Brexit effect.

A government spokesperson said: "A unique combination of factors, including stockpiling last year, Covid lockdowns across Europe, and businesses adjusting to our new trading relationship, made it inevitable that exports to the EU would be lower this January than last.

"This data does not reflect the overall EU-UK trading relationship post Brexit and, thanks to the hard work of hauliers and traders, overall freight volumes between the UK and the EU have been back to their normal levels since the start of February."

I thought we would have no food in the shops after Brexit?

Maybe we are all buying British?

COUNCILLOR Harman Banger becomes at least the TWENTIETH Labour politician to be charged, imprisoned, or placed under investigation in the past six months alone.

Labour councillor Banger, who represents East Park on Wolverhampton Council, has resigned from his role as the city’s economy cabinet member.

Banger and his wife, Neena Kumari, both pleaded not guilty to a charge of committing fraud by dishonestly making a false representation to snag £10,000 under the UK Government Covid-19 Small Business Scheme.

Well he was in the Labour Party until 1989 so it looked like they both learned their maths using the "get it wrong" Labour way.

You are getting him confused with Guillaume le Bâtard.
Duchess Matilda was giving him grief at home, so he thought he would go and visit the neighbours.
He was an illegal immigrant, showed up without proper documents and started a fight with the locals backed up by some of his mates that had come with him. What a bunch of garlic and onion smelling snail crunchers.

Nobody in my family is called Norman. Might be someone called Havelok the Dane. Don’t think he was Great but we’ve been barking mad for generations.

Cumbria coal mine: Public inquiry after government U-turn

Boris kicking this one into the long grass until after hosting the climate conference...

The tree huggers are against having a mine producing coke for steel making because they all want us to go back to the 17th century when life was as simple as them. <doh>

A few hundred jobs up North digging up coal for local use rather than importing it from Australia: That sounds like a win-win for the Tories. Keep the ‘now Blue formerly Red Wall’ happy with some jobs.

Labour loser Ed Miliband crawled out from under the Edstone to oppose the mine and call for green jobs. Just what does Ed think they are going to do in Cumbria? The same with LibDem loser Tim Farron. Just how do you employ 24 million people making wind turbines when you are so dim that ‘green job’ are all you can imagine? And what construction material is used for three quarters of a wind turbine? I am sure we could import some cheap from China. <doh>
