West Ham could move out of Upton Park, sell exceptionally cheap tickets to attract new fans and not have to deal with any financial fallout.
Sell or redevelop the old ground and use that money to either fund the side or basically subsidise ticket sales for years.

Not a threat to Spurs, but clearly unfair competition, based upon a very dubious bidding system.

Why thank you but I could only ever take an 8/10 on your board, because the winner probably goes to Ghoddle10 for "twat post of the day" <applause>

It clearly holds the attention of quite a few on here!

Oh and regarding post #40, yes I had seen that, what I suggest you do is take a look at what your man Ensil posts.......

I would say that now the OPLC need someone to take on the renting of the OS and sort it pretty quick, therefore whoever the winning bid is, will probably get a fair bit of help with the "conversion" in order to keep them as tennants, otherwise they do run the risk of ending up with the nice white elephant that Ensil posts the picture of.

PNP - I don't believe the bidding system was very dubious the key factor was the legacy, clearly the Newham loan is the main issue here and the time spent going through the courts could have hampered the handover of the stadium. I mean in what way really is our 40 million of state aid any different to Boris' trying to hand you a pretty big brown envelope with 17 million to go away?

I do agree that from a tax payers perspective the Spurs bid was probably the most sensible, but there is a big catchment area in Stratford just waiting to be sold some football, could we really let that happen?

People banged on about WHU filling or not filling the stadium, we know we will get at least 30-35,000 and probably in the early years more than that as novely factor is there, as long as we are doing that and paying our way it probably wasn't going to be a problem.

The result has been abandoned because it was so dubious.

Apart from the amount, Johnson's £17m would be used on local infrastructure in an area hit by destitution, virtually no investment and riots and not on the stadium.

Even you agree that the Spurs bid was the best one for the taxpayer and Newham council would've benefited from having two clubs in the borough, so where was the argument?
    Who lost out?
    The area of Tottenham, arguably.

No, no Zola, West Ham are Spurs' bitch, but your delusion and arrogance prevents you from realising it <doh> Which makes your current pretensions to being a big club even more hilarious <laugh>

Am I right in thinking you've now been relegated in each and every decade since the 70s - 5 in a row - that's what I call consistency <laugh> <doh> <laugh>

No need to take a pill, seeing West Ham in their rightful place keeps me happy all day long <ok>

Your World Cup trio were excellent players. One tried to get out of West Ham to join up with Spurs, and was really upset when West Ham wouldn't let him move up in the world, I think he may even have cried in his hotel room, that's Moore BTW. One succeeded in the 'Great Escape' (Peters).

Depsite the trio all being excellent players, Spurs finished above West Ham in each and every season in the 60s. That's right a 10-0 humiliation for the Hammers, World Cup heroes and all. That's what's so funny about the idea that West Ham winning the World Cup, not only Spurs, but Liverpool, Leeds and Man U all used to walk all over you in the 60s. You were all our bitches <ok>

Oh look Zola the twat is now calling me names, how hilarious coming from the land of the cardboard castles.

Of course you get quite a lot of fans in with your Kids for a Quid and other give aways.

How's your season ticket waiting list going BTW? Oh that's right it doesn't exist, never did, in fact West ham are now flogging them at 25% discount. You should get Del Boy on the case he could probably knock 'em out for a quid a piece - pretend they were for the Spurs U19 team <laugh>

West Ham, home to the cardboard castles and the most deluded arrogant fans in England <ok>
Have you signed Tevez yet BTW? Bwahahahaha <laugh>

Well it's not their normal place is it, I mean someone on here thinks that 9 years out of 53 is significant.

You really do have a problem don't you, I am enjoying this.

You had a great side in the 60's, you know when you were not in Arsenal's shadow. Perhaps it's that Sir Geoff took Greavies place, is that what hurts?

Problem with that? Surely your not going to go all "it's our board I will say what I like" on me are you?

That's right, kids for a fiver, kids for a quid, it's a tough market while still in a recession. Still think that scheme wouldn't work in the OS, if we get it?

You should know better than listen to Brady, because we don't.

So, tell me, when do intend getting that long waiting list out of their armchairs and inside a ground? How much will it cost again, and how do you intend to fund it?

I love the fact you really hate us, because of a couple of chants? Makes it more worthwhile. <ok>

Now back to the topic, assuming you can debate? How do you see all this OS malarkey going down?

I personally don't see it as significant over 50+ years, it's not like we stayed out in the wilderness for too long each time (3 years max), therefore while it was a setback it wasn't a major setback or a fairly large number of years (well under 20%) and if you compare to other clubs of similar size that have been gone for a lot longer.

The 60s, you know when you were in our shadow like every decade of the 20th Century - and all of the 21st century so far too <ok>

I'm glad you're enjoying this cos I'm loving it, it's like catching fish in a barrel pointing out to West ham fans how inferior your two bob club is to us <ok>

I have a massive problem with West Ham - why - because you deluded, arrogant Hammers decided you were our rivals and started acting like you were a big club, when you're nowhere near our level, you're not a big club, and I'm soooooo pleased you're back where you belong <ok>

Greavesie missing the final did hurt me big-time, but do you know what I didn't have a problem with West Ham then, so the fact that Hurst took his place didn't bother me at all. I only started having a problem with West Ham in the 80s, and since then your supporters have become more and more aggressive against us, so I simply can't stand you lot now. The clincher was that fateful day in May 2006. I'm so pleased that you've been cursed ever since the gloating your mob did then and thereafter, beating a weakened team to confirm an already guaranteed 9th place, and you celebrated like you won the league - because that's going to happen - bwahahaha

Does 9 years out of of 53 refer to your top flight status since 58 - You weren't in the the top flight before then were you?

As a club you're over 100 years old I believe, yet you've only spent 42 seasons in the top flight?

You're 20th in the all-time top flight points table

    http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/all-time-table/full

Teams like Sheff Wed, Derby and Boro have got more points - But you deluded Hammers carry on thinking you're a big club <ok>

I can debate all day - if you want to to revert to typical West ham behaviour and start name calling then it's no surprise to me at all

There are many reasons I hate West ham besides your obnoxious chants about the holocaust, the Seig Heil salutes, calling Mido a shoe bomber and the the like. I've listed some of them in other posts, but it's your delusion, arrogance and making a false rivalry between the two clubs that are the key reasons

I've already given my views on the OS, as long as your stuck with the track and don't get too cheap a rent or too many concessions re non-football revenues, I'm happy with that. Levy's chief job was to ensure you weren't going to have a chance of becoming actual rivals of ours by being given a £300/400m present by the govt - he seems to have successfully done so - but I await the details. I don't trust anything to do with West ham one bit, nor I suspect does Levy. We want that running track nailed down and you doomed to binocular watching for the next fifty years or more.

9 years out of 53 IS significant to team with any ambition. (Although 42 years in the top flight out of a hundred describes more fully your teams abject mediocity)

As for what happened 45 years ago, I don't give a flying ****. Like your team, it is an irrelevence to most Spurs fans. You are not a direct rival and have never really been one. Go and play with Millwall fans, they are nearer the mark.

Getting back to the REAL subject of the post; Whatever the outcome, it would seem that your grubby board of director's haste to get their hands on a cut-price stadium paid for with (mostly) public money, has caused the white elephant that is the OS to become immortal and an even bigger drain of the public purse. You must be so proud.
