Like somebody else said, would have been really interesting to see how that plays out with our full strength team. Though given our situation I understand and am glad that we rested who we did.
That was a great game to watch. Silly mistakes but defence will be back to full strength on Sunday. Rested players we needed to. No complaints.
When Ralph's yard stick is 9 then 5 is a reflection of how glad Ralph is that it wasn't more. If City had needed 9 goals to win the PL tonight they would probably have got them. Enjoying small periods of our football but not the whole 90+ minutes or results is frustrating beyond belief. Going forward we look good, but defensively we are shockingly bad and make it so easy for any PL opponent. On the plus side no major injury worries going into the must win game against Brighton. We march on.
Yep Brighton is not a 'must win', but it is a 'win if you don't want to make some of not606 wet their beds'
A game that would be hugely beneficial if we win. Probably make us safe. One of 10 games we have left to pick up 2, 3 or maybe 4 more points from. Not a must win yet. I also predict it to be a very tough game, but I say now that there will be loads of “we should beat Brighton” type comments on here.
It's not quite yet the 'must win' stage due to the 7 point gap between them and us. The fact they, Burnley, Newcastle & Fulham have to catch and overtake us (with 10 games to do it) makes it a 'please win to put this to bed'. I think it will take 6 games minimum of us picking no points to drop into the bottom 3 - the teams below us aren't there because they are renowned for their winning streaks. Even if that happens we have 4 games to pick up the 5-6 points needed to ensure we are safe.
The bookies actually have Brighton as favourites. Definitely going to be a tough game. A point wouldn't be a bad result.
Yep a point keeps them 7 points below us and guarantees we'll still be at least 7 points above the drop zone
cant remember the stat, but they are something like third best in the league for least number of chances created against them. If they could finish, they’d be knocking on the door of Europe
My definition is simple: if an impending disaster happens if we don’t win a game, then It’s must win. For me this game is a “really good if we win” game. Fans start calling it “must win” and we don’t, starts the spiral of unnecessary negativity. Edit: Bournemouth is more must win than Brighton.
RedandWhitemanofKent statement. RedandWhitemanofKent was saddened by the 5-2 scoreline tonight and will privately deal with the issues raised. I thought we played very well but recollections may vary. Ralph and the team are very much loved.
