Well what can you say? Absolutely bursting with pride watching that and it’s been a while since I’ve said that. We knocked it round them like they weren’t even there, it was fantastic to watch. 2 great finishes too, hats off to Johnson and the team. To think we were forced to play two midfielders in defence again as well. Best performance of the season.

And aren't refs always told by 'experts' that the direction the ball travels is the giveaway. I totally agree not a penalty.

Great performance. Looked comfortable on the ball and work rate is huge. Good to see players passing and moving and not just standing still after playing it. Things are certainly going in the right direction and others will be looking over their shoulders watching the juggernaut gaining momentum. Happy days.

The dive by Marquis was absolutely shameful.

I hope the referee for the Salford game was watching and books him if he pulls the same stunt.

I really don't care if this other 'penalty' was one or not, it wouldn't have changed the course of the game ...

... Portsmouth were well beaten by a far superior team.

    And that's that.

Great performance yes. But I reckon never a penalty, it was a late tackle by the Pompey player. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I'm going to judge the quality of the finish on the fact that when he got into the position to shoot I honestly didn't think he would score.
If it was an easy clear cut chance I'd have expected him to score all day but it looked like the keeper had done well enough to narrow the angle.
Not everyone can produce a perfectly weighted chip like that, I do believe had that been any other Sunderland player other than McGeady the keeper would have saved it as any other shot other than the chip the keeper was perfectly place to save it

Easy Smug. This was my state of events. . . .
    1. Nervously clock watching - where the f**k did they get 5mins added time!!!!
    2. Full Time whistle goes jumping up and down and doing a Poyet with my arms!!!
    3. Look at all of the other Full Time scores.
    4. Look at the League One table.
    5. Turn off Sky Sports - nothing more to see or add - we won 3pts
    6. Slept like a baby <cheers>

Woke up buzzing this morning, can't wait for next game which is bizarre as nobody can go, I reckon it's most likely the same with the players, reckon the morale is that good that games aren't coming quick enough, even in this heavy schedule.

Performance of the season that for me, and yet I thought we never really got out of third gear.....didn't have to. Quality all over the park last night, not one player could be singled out as a "weak link. Controlled the game from the off, and never looked in danger, a complete professional performance.
Thats a bloody good squad coming together now, playing with swagger and confidence.
Thay really was a joy to watch last night.

I certainly can’t remember a better one. Bigger win yes but not a better performance. Superb everywhere. Even McFadzean who terrified me pre game!!!

Not the expert clowns last night. The co commentator said stonewall penalty. The commentator, having never played the game, simply rolls over and and agrees without giving his own opinion (typical). But the to see the 2 ex prison the studio say VAR would’ve given it. Unbelievable! Unless the Pompey lad, with a tiny flick of his foot, can magically make the ball fly off at over 90 degrees from the way he’s facing land travel over 30 yards in that direction, it can’t be a penalty!! End of story

It was never a penalty in my opinion, as you say ball first and could have even been a foul on Flanagan. The referee had a perfect view and was looking straight down the barrel.

This for me also, just had a look back at the incident and you usually get the feeling if it was or not by his team mates reactions. Only two players reacted and one of those was halfhearted.
