Even in their praise of 09 and hendry giving him mom, I don’t think they mentioned he is out of position at CB.

Very good. Bit sloppy early on but that game will have done him wonders hopefully.

    Very impressed with that mind.

Wrong again me, champion! Very good signs there, tremendous workrate and looked good all over. Good to see it when no one is alone on the pitch , always someone to help.

They look like utterly different players to a few months ago.

Ah but he caught the man afterwards. Once you’ve kicked a ball, you are supposed to be able to completely stop your leg moving or chop it off at the knee!!

yes - frustrating that. But I take that as a remarkable complement. It’s like everybody has just accepted he can play anywhere. There’s no such thing as out of position for this kid. He’s intelligent. He’s fit. He’s technically accomplished.

    Just a brilliant performance

What is it with Philips and us? Did we upset him somehow? He rarely has a good word to say and any compliment is a back-handed one. Very strange given he made his name playing for us.

They’ve just said to Jacket they could have had two penalties, fair enough the one from Flanagan but Christ that first one was a shocking dive and he should have been carded for it.

I have watched it a few times and I can’t see how it’s a penalty, the ball goes in a direction that could only happen if we win the ball.

He's like a sulky teenager who's been asked to tidy his room ...

... pulling down Jones's goal by saying the keeper made it easy for him.

It was a Kenny Dalglish finish of the highest quality, end of story.

Too many things to praise in that performance.

Jones's finish has got to be one of the best of the season. You don't see that type of class in League 1 often!

I get the feeling he's just a dour bloke who sees the negative side in everything and he doesn't feel the need to change when it comes to Sunderland. If he has got some issue with us god knows what it is. Think he was up Donald's arse a bit, maybe that soured him on the new regime.

I’ve always just thought Kev overcompensates trying to appear impartial.

Who gives a **** anyway lads, another top win, Wembley on Sunday, the pundits can chew on my shiny Mackem helmet.

Just popped on to say that was probably our best performance in a at least a couple of seasons. To go there and control that game from minute 1.

onien was superb, Winchester was excellent as was jones and McGeady. Think that might have been mcfadzeans best performance in a Sunderland shirt as well.

All round our team showed balls there tonight. This sets us up massively going into the final stretch of the season. Still got the teams above us to play.

It’s ours to lose imo. The 3 above us will be looking o er their shoulders at us and worrying more as each game passes.

    keep the faith.

The commentators, Phillips and Jackett can say what the hell they like! The scoreline will still state Portsmouth 0 Sunderland 2!
